I knew this thread would bring the lulz. Well done, Craig. That plot twist is some M Night Shyamalan type shit. Would have never guessed the women was actually white I never even got to tell my punch line. Saska spoiled it. Here is my PM to him. It clearly says I don't want to say yet in my silly thread. I'm not going to say this on my silly thread yet. But I want you to know, the black woman is Marlene. Who is as white as you can get. I just want to see peoples opinion. It's crazy to me how people jump on racism. If Marlene (my female room mate) was black it would be racist. But since she white, the people were just doing their job. It's a true story, and not a big deal. The deal is like I said. If she was black it would be racist. That is what has to stop. The race card sucks. If the girl in the store is doing nothing wrong, there's no reason to be suspicious. So what's the reason for the employee being suspicious? A black girl in a white town in a store with white employees, racial profiling is a very logical and rational deduction if the customer is not doing anything out of the ordinary. To be fair here... I will say that it doesn't have to be racial profiling. Maybe the employee who is spying on the customer is just very cynical. But if somebody accused the employee of racial profiling, that's an accusation which is hard to disagree with. Especially if that employee doesn't spy on the white customers that walk in and shop the store. But Saska, Jindred, and Juggs are not race baiters when you intentionally mislead them in a dumb "study" like this.

No, the only information you gave us was skin colour. Of course that is the logical step. Your point just isn't as good as you thought it was. I told your right off the hop that we needed more information to make an informed decision and all you gave us was skin colour. This was always set up to guide us towards that assumption. Don't get all grumpy because we see through your intentions. I was trying to give you as much info as I could. How much do you need? You see through my intentions? Bite me. I'm not that smart to have a secrete agenda. I was just telling a story with a twist. EXCUSE Me. I didn't set anything up to guide you anywhere. You found your own path. So stop blaming everyone else. You are a race baiter period. You think white Americans bash minorities. You think minorities are SO mistreated in this country. You are so wrong. I will say it one more time for the record. Does racism exist? Well of course. Do we need to fuel it more? NO. Acknowledging it is not fuelling it. To make an informed opinion we would need to know what she was wearing, how she was acting, how her hair looked, etc.. All of that matters in how someone is treated. As I said in my response to the poll question: Based on the limited information that we have, it would make sense to assume racial profiling. Then in you immediately jump to RACE BAITER!!!! I explained in great detail the thought process I went through in reaching that decision but you ignored it all as soon as you got the answer you wanted. And you say that I missed the point? Get a clue. You understand 5% of what I say and then call me names because of it. Seriously grow up or shut up.

You all still miss the point. I can't explain it any clearer.

The world is still trying to get past step one..

Spoiler of the story: The woman was actually white, so now we're all racist. Yeah I was figuring that would be the twist lol.

The woman has a bag over her shoulder that is what she uses to take her groceries home. She has her purse in it, so its kind of open. This is the part that made the store employees suspicious. Anyone (no matter what their sex or race) walking into a store with an empty bag, big enough to stuff stolen merchandise in, is gonna be "watched." BTW-- I voted before I read the spoiler.

saskabronco I shouldn't have used the word racist. Its not really what I meant so I am sorry. It's the fact that some people think everything that happens to blacks (or other races) is racism. My silly poll shows that to be true. If the lady was black she may or may not of called racism. It would depend on the person. Some would and raise a stink. Some would laugh about it like Marlene did. I was just trying to prove that a percent of racist claims are bogus. I don't know the percent but I would bet its a big percent. And that is fueling it more. Miss Lacy I like that answer. That is how I feel would be a way better way to think. Some people on here said they need more info as to how she was dressed what her hair looked like etc. I don't get that at all. I didn't know there was a stereotype to identify a shoplifter. I think they come in all colors, sizes, and dress. Heck look at the people busted for shoplifting. Move stars, athletes, business people, etc. Also the statements about if she wasn't doing anything suspicious there is no reason to watch her. I don't agree with that either. Most stores have cameras and watch everyone. Which is what I would do if it was my stuff that gets stolen. Oh and Marlene takes those bags with her every time she shops. Saving plastic bags ya know

You'll find this hilarious. You'd almost think reverse discrimination. But, not really. I was like a 'Marlene'. Separate bag for groceries that I had laying there in my shopping cart. And I was probably less enraged (but WAS) than a black woman would be in a white area. Here's what happened... Respectable looking white woman, late 40's, grocery shopping (local small chain) the store 1/4 the size of a major chain supermarket. Shoppers maybe 10% black at most - 25% more 'other', rest white. Little BS outfit hires this 'security personnel' black woman probably in her 60s. Stops me after I paid my groceries, accuses me of stealing, and starts checking the bag I put in my cloth bag (!!!). Believe it or not, I can be meek, to a fault sometimes. Instead of telling her to get her filthy hands off my bag and 'go call the fucking police, and I'm gonna sue this store, and sue you personally for slander', I let her check my bag. She found nothing of course, but when I balked, she claimed there had been 'several shoppers that had seen me shoplift before'. ROTFLMFAO So you mean me and other shoppers were in the same store at the same time, like I shop there for 10 minutes once or twice a week?!?! (I'd just moved there a year b4 tops) And they went to you (seen here there for a few months!?) to say keep an eye on that woman (me), and you did?!? I called HQ to complain, using the term 'slander' of course, illegal procedure, they seemed to take it seriously. I went back next day and mouthed off to the 20-something white boy store manager (looked nervous when she was going through my things). She was probably fired instantly, never saw her again.

Oh just to clear up another missed point. I said predominately white. Our town is mixed but the majority is white. Probably 75%.
I got a story that happened just the other day. I got a call to go check out a new job. I gave the guy a price for repairing and servicing his pool. He has two dogs, a pit bull and a rotwiller. He said and I quote "Well that's higher than the other guy I had here to bid yesterday. But he was a black guy and my dogs hated him. They wanted to chew him up. When can you start?"
Haha racist dogs.
Oh and before anyone thinks I got the job due to racism. I know the black pool man. His name is Nick. The pool is really old and Nick didn't know some of the equipment that operates it. I have about 38 more years experience than him. I impressed the homeowner with my knowledge. Nick and I will have a good laugh about the dogs.
I always laugh at Nicks pool company name. Its Slick Nick the Pool Fool. haha.
