Just now voted in this poll, and I also voted yes myself. This is still very common now today as well. Here is video I found that is a great example of it IMO
There are a lot of other videos out there as well, but this one didn't have as many views as some of the others, yet it was pretty clear that this one was racism.

Respectable looking white woman, late 40's,grocery shopping (local small chain) the store 1/4 the size of a major chain supermarket. Shoppers maybe 10% black at most - 25% more 'other', rest white. Little BS outfit hires this 'security personnel' black woman probably in her 60s. Stops me after I paid my groceries, accuses me of stealing, and starts checking the bag I put in my cloth bag (!!!). Respectable? You mean you ain't dressed like a ho? hehehe I also assume you weren't in "business attire" and sporting respectable black pumps. So, yes--- you could have been profiled. But not the racist type-- more than likely it would be the socioeconomic kind. As for the "aggressive nature" of the black woman-- any 60 year old woman, who takes a security job, must have seen-it-all, heard-it-all, been there, done that, and are not afraid of being direct. If I'm gonna accuse you of something, I'm not worried about hurting your feelings. Would you have felt differently about this encounter if the security person was a 60 year old white man?

No ho outfit this time, maybe rattyish jeans and a nice top. Neighborhood appropriate, no yuppies here. And no, I wouldn't have felt better if it were a 60s white male. Never felt it had anything to do with profiling, it's mostly a white hood. And disagree she had seen-it-all, been there, done that. They probably hire anybody, minimum wage, it was clear she had no experience or even training. Her comments to me were so outrageously stupid bold-faced lies, you'd wonder if she could tie her own shoes. EDIT: They might have trained her to watch people with their own bags in the cart. Mine was a denim off the shoulder tote - much more comfy than thin plastic cutting a hole in your hands before ripping halfway home. But it was impossible she or anyone ever saw anything close to stealing.

Okay so a black woman walks into a thrift store. It's in a primarily white town. The woman has a bag over her shoulder that is what she uses to take her groceries home. She has her purse in it, so its kind of open. She walks around the thrift store for about a half hour looking at stuff. She works her way back to the back end of the big store and is looking at the tank tops. A woman comes who works there, she is faking adjusting things on the shelf. She keeps a close eye on the black woman. She/they think the black woman may be steeling. Is that racial profiling? Yes or no. First thought. D) Not enough infomation provided

Alright so I know I never come to this section (For good reason, I don't see a practical point to talking sensitive issues from behind a monitor, always gives birth to keyboard cowboys. Trust me, I'm friends with a doctor, of psychology, haha, no offense) but I wanna say, i'm a normal blue-eyed dirty blonde haired 6-2 white guy that usually wears a ballcap, NASCAR t-shirt (Jeff Gordon!), Wranglers and Justin boots (I got the baddest boots en Tejas); anyway Craigster, the same scenario that you brought up happened to me at a Goodwill in Houston. Same deal, flip-flopped races. Was it because I was white? Or my boots and t-shirt? How I talk? I wonder if it was just my eyes those women got lost in...? Perhaps it was the Rangers cap I was wearing and they were all Astros fans.
Know what I'm getting at? But I also should say, everyone here is putting way to much thought into this question. Answer the Q how it comes yall. Kinda wanna know the point to this.
D)
I didn't care that much in Houston, I strutted my Texan badass anyway, lol.

This is kind of a dead subject. I tried to make a point but it flew over everyone but Miss Lacy's head. I read a lot of articles and I'm convinced that race relations are going down hill. I think it might be on purpose. Like the fact churches are being burned down since the shooting in SC. All the articles are referring to the KKK. No one knows why they burned let alone who did it. It's race baiting, and I'm not sure its not being done on purpose to provoke people. So an article like this pisses me off. thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/06/30/3676023/breaking-african-american-church-south-carolina-previously-burned-kkk-fire/It was previously burned by KKK. So I guess that is relevant? The article is trying to promote race tension. Doesn't seem anyone else gets that. Are white people burning theses churches? who knows, it might be Obama starting the race war so he can declare marshal law. Who the hell knows. One good conspiracy deserves another. Oh and Nathan, thanks for stirring this back up. haha.

Nathan I just read your post again and it is funny, insightful, and very good. You didn't take cardboard Danica with you to the store did you? That would have raised a question to me if I was store security. Hey I read Jeff Gordon is bringing back his rainbow car? He had a rainbow car before? Edit. Oh and congrats on your smashing win last week in L2. Keep it up and we can catch that Drivebitch. Well at least I can. I gained almost 1oo points last week.

Lol thanks, we'll get her, and yes Jeff is bringing back the Rainbow Warriors of the 90's for the Bristol Night Race. I love it, its gonna bring back some good memories from the Golden Era. I do agree that race relations are going downhill, there's alot of blame to go around. But I think the politicians, race-baiters, and narrative-pushing media bears much of the blame. Oh yes, Danica and I go everywhere together, arm in arm. Though I must say, she's not a great kisser. Who've figured?

I never watched Nascar in the 90's so I don't know what the Rainbow Warriors was all about.
