Not really a big fan of Jackson and don't have the money. With roughly $5 million in salary cap room, I do agree Carolina is not in position to take on Jackson’s 2014 10.5mil contract But.....There are moves the Panthers could make to create cap space, including getting a long-term deal done with defensive end Greg Hardy, who will make $13.1 million this year after having the franchise tag placed on him. Though there have been no indications the Panthers are close to signing Hardy to an extension. The Panthers could restructure the contracts of defensive end Charles Johnson or safety Charles Godfrey, both of whom carry big cap numbers. But even if Carolina came up with the space or Jackson agreed to a restructuring, the Panthers still might not be interested. Why no love for Jackson? Still no explanation. I get the "me'sean" Jackson label....but the kid is a damn good player and you know Cam would love to have him..

What's really a shame is D-Wil and J-Stew combining for $16 mil in cap room, and will be doing so for at least 2 years... www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/D-Wil turns 31 next month. J-Stew can't stay healthy, 10 TDs in 4 years, and his contract is up 2018. And someone was wondering why GM Gettelman wasn't ranked higher (at 16?). Crying over spilled milk though. Nice chart you part up there. I think the synergism of Chip Kelly and Foles has really helped further Desean's overall development. Okay, just checked. I knew it, I knew it... www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000335961/article/report-desean-jackson-in-eaglespanthers-trade-talksThey might not bite though. It had also occurred to me what they said there about Steve Smith being a distraction in the same way D-Jax might. Anyway, according to this, the only 2 teams interested in him that currently have the cap space are Jets and Raiders... www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000336016/article/report-desean-jackson-believes-eagles-will-trade-himHe is totally out the door though, just a matter of where.

I don't think he's going anywhere. Seems like everyone else seems to think so. Believe me, I'd be as sad as you. EDIT: Well, maybe not. Then again, depends on what you think about him.

Just reported that if they can't trade him the Eagles are willing to release him.

I would not mind Jackson being out of PHI. I hate Jackson, but he always destroys the Giants.
