I've pondered it and read up on other forums...I think it would be stupid to trade him. His demeanor erks me, and all of his hip hop thug gang related media attention just draws bad stigma....but he is what he is and keeping players that were bred in the organization seems to be paramount in building success. We have plenty of money with him on the roster. As of now it doesnt make any sense to trade or cut him. Realistically you arnt going to get much considering the contract, and you should be able to afford him for at least the next two years. The Eagles are in a very good cap situation right now. Of course it helps when your QB is still on his rookie contract, but still nothing to be concerned about unless Jackson really is causing locker room issues.

Seemed kinda shrouded in mystery, so I believe ya. But where there's smoke... gotta wonder. Is it worth cutting a player like Jackson to save that money? Maybe if there are actual issues in the locker room, or something like that. Then again all I am seeing is pure speculation, nothing to actually back it up, so I am hesitant to believe it. The plot thickens. Kelly 'reportedly' told D-Jax not to worry, he wasn't going anywhere. Then that story was recanted. www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000335296/article/report-chip-kelly-told-desean-jackson-not-to-worry Hmmmmmmm... Been doin' a little speculatin' myself. I can think of many possibilities as to what's going on here. The one thing that rings true for me is that D-Jax irks Chip Kelly as well, flat out doesn't like him for a myriad of reasons. A passage from this article... www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000335079/article/philadelphia-eagles-open-to-desean-jackson-trade"Jackson and coach Chip Kelly got off to a rocky start last offseason. There has been mounting speculation that the high-maintenance receiver is not a fit for the culture Kelly wants to instill. We suspect the braintrust took an awfully dim view of Jackson's public plea for more money in January, less than two seasons after he was awarded a five-year, $48.5 million contract coming off a disappointing campaign. Even with Jackson's unique talent, that perceived me-first attitude and a top-10 salary at wide receiver will challenge the Eagles' efforts to get fair value in a trade." When you're already a top 10 salary, you're expected to play like one. You don't ask for more money, you honor the contract, a generous one at that, especially coming off a "disappointing campaign", that no one put a gun to your head to sign. That contract was a leap of faith. Until last season he didn't play a full season since his rookie year. On the flip side, Kelly realizes he's got a very young, (hopefully) franchise QB who has obviously developed a great rapport with D-Jax. Kinda between a rock and a hard place. So is Kelly just trying to teach him a lesson? Doubtful IMO. Does he wanna roll the dice in a skill position-rich draft? Who knows. I hope he stays in Philly, and there is a meeting of the minds. He and Kelly have to leave their egos at the door. If they wanna win now, he is not easily replaceable nor can they compensate with Sproles or even Maclin without considerable changes to their offensive scheme IMO.

Great, now you can throw the Raiders, Jets, and Panthers (duh) in the mix. Getting the sinking feeling he's as good as out the door. I think the Panthers will bite, with Cam's ankle surgery on top of everything. Missing the entire pre-season, and start of camp no guarantee, rookies are no longer as viable an option. An aging Cotchery is not the answer. Cam may not be able to run around as much. D-Jax brings them speed and experience. Oh, Ted Ginn gone - now you have a punt returner. Yep, more ya think about it, I see the Panthers biting hard. Whaddaya think Panther? How much say, if any, would D-Jax have in where he goes? Guess it depends on his contract, right?

Don't think D-Jax has any say where he goes. In baseball some players have no trade clauses in their contracts and which teams they would go to if traded. May have changed IDK have not kept up with baseball like I used to..

I would imagine that football is similar with contract options. But really don't know. D-Jax obviously does not have a no-trade clause, which probably makes it less likely that there's even a clause about particular teams in he won't go to. Besides, you'd think the Raiders might be one of them. lol

I don't want the Chiefs to take him. We are already broke. And already have a mega contract at the WR spot.
