Anthony Bennett was a 1st overall pick and Andrew Wiggins could be a 1st overall pick this year. Both are Canadians.. and I don't see how black people have anything to do with fielding a good team. Yeah, majority of the NBA are black people but that's because that is the sport they play as a kid not because of their ethnicity. Spain has the 2nd best basketball team and the majority of their team are not black. It's not ethnicity per se. Every American White, Hispanic or Asian kid has the same opportunity to play basketball, it's everywhere. It's just the sheer number of blacks that have the physical attributes to excel at it at a world-class level. There are individual exceptions of course, but it's undeniable. You can say the same thing about the 100 yard dash. Running is free and widely accessible lol, but you'll never see a white person even in the race in the Olympics. If you'd say blacks are not exposed to hockey, I'd agree wholeheartedly with that. No reason any race couldn't excel at that. But people in warm climates are simply not exposed to it. Come to think of it, other than a woman figure skater, I don't think think I've even seen a black person in the entire winter Olympics. Here in So Cal Divebitch every high school has many tennis courts and a swimming pool. But we don't have ice of any kind. NOT one anywhere. Not too surprising. Warmer the climate, the more expensive they are to run. Many tennis courts, eh? Must be nice.

Tennis courts everywhere. Lots of them at peoples houses. Rich people of course. There's a high school down the street that must have fifteen courts. Anyone can play on the weekends or after school, as long as the school tennis team isn't playing.

I'm not saying that black people may be genetically more athletic but saying that white people don't have a chance in springs is absurd. Sprinting is basically Jamaica's national pastime. That's what every child there dreams of being. In Europe and North America it's different. Sprinting is not as popular. Europe all the craze is about soccer so most European skills develop their ball handling skills not sprinting skills. In Canada it's all hockey all the time. Even in high school, I'd bet that at least half the guys were still at least playing house league or some form of competitive hockey. Again hockey doesn't develop sprinting skills. In the US, I bet it's anything but sprinting as the main sport. When was the last time that you saw a sprinter raking in a big contract, be the main story of ESPN or be in advertisements? I've never heard of Yohan Blake until the 2012 Olympic Games and I've seen Mark Sanchez in the media more times than Usain Bolt since the conclusion of the Olympic Games.
Yeah genetics may play a part but I believe in nurture over nature. If sprinting was half as popular in Europe or North America as it is in Jamaica then we would probably see more sprinters that aren't black. A quick google search of the fastest soccer players show that it's about evenly split between Caucasians and black people.

And don't forget P.K. Subban on team Canada Hockey... See there are tens of black people in the winter olympics.

Actually, the USA sent 6 women to the Olympics for bobsled, 5 of them are African American. I think there was a fellow on the men's bobsled team too. Not to mention Shani Davis, a very good Speed skater and short track Athlete.

Believe me, and I know you didn't say this, but what I'm saying is not meant to be racist at all. And I believe in nurture over nature to a point. But there are physical differences for better or for worse in every race, whether it be height, muscle density/attributes, etc. As far as sprinting, most kids do participate in basic track and field in every school, it's not like hockey. And you DO see more white people once you get into the 400 and 800 meters. It's not like they shy away from the 100 meters cuz it's too short. lol They simply can't compete at the highest level.
Soccer, football, baseball - these are not fair comparisons. Unlike sprinting, these are sports that involve a multitude of different skills. Sprinting isn't even a sport. No one goes into it unless they are born fast. There may be some technique involved, but it's not something you can get much faster at no matter how long you practice.
