The Giants will not be able to keep both of them. Victor Cruz is the better of the two though (ironic considering Nicks was a 1st Round Pick and Cruz was Undrafted). I think they will suffer more if Cruz is let go rather than Nicks. Agreed 110%. Sorry Plax, I just don't understand your loyalty to Nicks. Of course I love this turmoil in my Rivals lockerroom.

Its the giants. They will sign both. First off cruz had no offer sheets and will make less than 3 million this year and thats if he signs his tender if not he may make less. If he doesnt have an incredible year I dont think he will be a giant in 2014. Pay nicks whatever he wants. He is our wide out. He is our big reciever. Another note i can foresee the NFL upping the cap after the 2013 season. This will definetly help the giants By big do you mean main? Because he is maybe 6-1 205. Not all that big. Hes better than our 6-1 200 lb guy in Jeremy Maclin that's for sure.

So yeah I think he counts as a big WR. Just by looking at how big his chest and arms are, combined with 6'2", you would have a hard time convincing me he is less than 225 pounds... At least when I saw him.

I still don't know how, but I'm faithful that our WR duo dilemma will be sorted out soon. I've been hearing rumors that getting Cruz signed was a matter of a little more time, but that was two weeks ago. Negotiations aren't an easy process, I know, but I'm starting to feel anxious about it. I don't blame you, after what all these other guys, including Wallace have done so far, it makes it tempting for them to sit out till it's time to start losing money... I don't think Cruz will take that long, but expect him to hold out till June 11th. If he holds out longer than that, be ready for a long summer, cause he'll probably stay out till preseason. Dunno how Coughlin will like that, but he's the star of your offense... Also Dan, plax sean2457 hebertespinosa nygchamps and any other fans I'm forgetting. I do legitimately think you have a chance at the playoffs this year, and I do think E. Man is a good QB, anything said against QC/MMQB on the other site as directed only to get under his skin... Same thing I use to do with 16NO, but I remember it offended our friends who are Pats fans, and I want to clear that up now before it comes across bad.

No listing has him over 6-1 210 that I can see. A big WR is 6-3-220 IMO... The point is that Cruz still generates more yards and receptions per pass route run (PFF), and by a fairly significant margin. Throw in that drop habits can be fixed, that Cruz is a unique threat from the slot and that Nicks has never made it through a full 16-game season, and I have a hard time buying that Nicks is the more valuable player, regardless of the fact he's almost two full years younger than Cruz and a former first-round pick. Yes, Nicks is smoother overall, but that doesn't count for everything. Some say he's a better deep threat, but the numbers certainly don't indicate that's the case. Since 2011 on passes that traveled at least 20 yards, Cruz also has a sizable advantage over his fellow starting wideout. That says a lot, considering how much time he spends in the slot. The point is that I think it's harder to find a talent like Cruz than a talent like Nicks.

Eagle, Cruz is great, I agree, but you cannot look past Steve Smith putting up similar (and one year, better) numbers when he played the slot.

I barely visit NFL.com forums so, to me, you never said anything bad at all As for the Giants situation, your words to the football Gods ears. I tend to think pessimistically about the team until I see them wining with what they have. I am a firm believer that continuity matters so that's why I'm praying for both Nicks and Cruz to resolve their differences with the team and get back to practice.

There's been a major update at least for Nicks. He's called off his hardball tactics. I'll quote the whole article since it's not that long.

The Giants are always against the cap, but how/why? Is it their DL? OL? I won't look up the figures right now, but a few guys must definitely not be worth their cap number. Nicks and Cruz go hand in hand together perfectly. Outside and inside. But if they can only keep one, they are screwed. I would keep Nicks, as a slot man is generally looked upon as a speed WR with mediocre hands. Welker drops balls, Cruz does too, so even the best of slot men aren't 100% locks in catching as you would think, check the numbers. Ball don't lie! Ha. But health is the issue with Nicks. So... it's a tough call! But if you had to pay each man the same amount, I would choose Nicks.

Eli is making 20mil (it is a lot, I know, but he has restructured every year for the past 3 or 4, so the Giants have to pay him all at once now). Rolle is making 9. Snee is making 6. Tuck is making 5. Beatty is now making 7.
