plax sean2457 - For me it's just odd that it hasn't been an issue all offseason, when he fully knew that Cruz was going to be targeted to be resigned and to have some money thrown his way. Not unless he heard specific numbers that sent him in a tizzy. I just think he would have done this a lot sooner, even before the draft.

The Giants will not be able to keep both of them. Victor Cruz is the better of the two though (ironic considering Nicks was a 1st Round Pick and Cruz was Undrafted). I think they will suffer more if Cruz is let go rather than Nicks. Cruz > Nicks? how?

ShaggzfateWell, Nicks and many were under the impression that Cruz would take the 6.5/year the Giants offered him and play some ball. When numbers of 11+ were put out, everything stalled for a while. They are about to settle at an offer of around 8+ a year. That is a lot of money for a position in which the Giants can plug a new guy in with ease. Nicks may be realizing now that Cruz will actually get signed long-term and is worried nothing will be left for him.

Its the giants. They will sign both. First off cruz had no offer sheets and will make less than 3 million this year and thats if he signs his tender if not he may make less. If he doesnt have an incredible year I dont think he will be a giant in 2014.
Pay nicks whatever he wants. He is our wide out. He is our big reciever.
Another note i can foresee the NFL upping the cap after the 2013 season. This will definetly help the giants

Give me Nicks stats last year. so you want the stats of where Nicks was injured almost all of last year? Nicks was 100% healthy for ONE week, and that was against TB, where he put up 200+ receiving yards.

Give me Nicks stats last year. Hakeem Nicks was the Giants' main weapon during their playoff run, you can double Cruz and that would blanket him pretty well

And craig440, if you are trying to say that Alexander is better than Nicks, how come no one matched an ORIGINAL TENDER for him a month ago?

They are both good but watch the tape when Cruz is in a game without Nicks. He can't handle when the opposing defense puts the two best coverage guys on him and has to rely on separation to make his catches. Nicks is more physical and can high point a ball much better than Cruz. Cruz also has developed a nasty habit of dropping easy passes (The Bengals game last year is an example) that would have put the team in better positions. Good receiver but he is generally overrated in the public sphere.
