Interesting. I didn't know he said that Mo. Learn something new every day.
So Juggs you are saying if a San Diego rotten cop mistreats a black man, black people should come burn down my house? And that would be justified?
I'm not sure how you know that only white business are being looted and burned, but lets say that is true, what did those business owners do wrong? Being white?

I'm responding on my phone so I'm sorry if I'm being overly concise. But I want to answer your questions because they are good ones. My answer to would that be justified is: sometimes yes. You would be a victim, albeit in a different way. The consequences of oppression could victimize you as an innocent bystander. If you want to remove that risk of violent demonstration, you have two choices. You can blame the looter who was driven to violence by his no-confidence in his country, or you could blame the country that drives him away from nonviolent civil disobedience. Your inference on the racial ownership of the destroyed ghetto is also partially right. Blacks and whites are both victims of the violence in that sense. I would argue because of white flight and ghetto- izing of black living spaces, the black owners of the worthless ghetto enterprise own nothing, since ownership doesn't bring them any wealth. The skin of the owner doesn't matter if a white man is better off by restricting blacks to live and work in an inferior space. By destroying a CVS, the looter expresses his opinion that until young black men have an opportunity to build wealth, there is no value in living in an inferior way, with inferior access to a good or service like a CVS. That building is a symbol of the city rationing services in an unequal way from west Baltimore to downtown, strictly on racial lines.

Funny you should post that. "It is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard." - MLK He wasnt condoning riots....he was saying basically that 2 wrongs dont make a right. But hes dead on the money. I wish people were this passionate about where this actually stems from and protest that. I totally agree with him. If there was an uprising against the government against corruption...I would place myself on the front line. Language of the unheard.

Motherfucker comes to my house and tries to set fire to it...hes got a death wish and his life span would be cut short. If I didnt do anything to you...best not show your mother fucking ass around my house. Black or white.

“Why burn down your neighborhood when you’re supposed to take care of your neighborhood?
Now I ain’t got a place to live … I lost my stuff. My wife is in the hospital. I don’t know how they did it, or why they did it.
Stop thinking black people are violent and destructive, because we not. What’s going on out here is not what God wants. It’s people that don’t care about the city, only care for what they’re doing, is what is happening.
This community was rising. This community was about to thrive again. We want the world to understand that we don’t condone this.”

How can you be mad about looting that doesn't affect you? Try to have empathy for the dead man and the west half of Baltimore.

How can you be mad about looting that doesn't affect you? Try to have empathy for the dead man and the west half of Baltimore. The same way I can be mad about Fred Gray dying Juggs. Dont be shallow. You must not have seen my posts about all the injustices. Or either you are choosing to ignore them because you are blinded by rage. There are human beings in Baltimore too, that are innocent of any wrong doings. YOU have empathy! For the innocent people. You must have me twisted.

How am I blinded by rage? I'm quite calm and it's a nice sunny day here. I'm posting on my way to and from class. Nothing I've posted could lead you to think I'm raging about anything. Your post sounded really angry, which is why I asked you why you were mad. There's no reason to get mad about looting. It doesn't involve you. It's an urban rebellion between the oppressed in West Baltimore and the oppressors. It doesn't have anything to do with people like you and me living states away. I get being mad at the police for killing a man out of hate. Getting angry over some people burning down a building is loony.
