If you have ANY fucking common sense, you HAVE to fucking know that you are NOT going to win when directly refusing to comply with police orders. Do you realize that what you just said is, factually, completely wrong? You don't have to comply with police orders! Not until arrested. None of these people were arrested or charged. None of these people were arrested. People with common sense know their rights and do stand up to people who try to abuse them. Also, I love how you, of all people, suggest that being polite to police officers is key, when your apparent mantra is that politeness and political correctness don't matter. Being a massive hypocrite is really convenient for you. I hope that someday, you or someone you love gets abused by police and you wake the fuck up and see that this is probably the biggest issue in the United States today. We're on pace to have more people killed by police this year than were killed in the September 11th attacks. Yeah, man, you go ahead and try it. Ever watch House of Lies? Last episode of season 2 I think. Don Cheadle's character gets worked like you would.

The police abuse you whether or not you kiss ass.

You can't not paint with a broad brush like that. I am personally friends with multiple cops who don't abuse their power. My wish list: #1. LG #2. Big, Nasty DT #3. RT #4. Speedy RB #5. Eventual Mathis Replacement CB #6. Eventual Ihedibgo Replacement SS #7. Backup LB #8. Backup QB #9. Third WR we are the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the loony bin!

It's not .01%, not for most of the country. More like 75 or 50. And no matter what the number, does that mean it isn't a problem? I'm not painting with a broad stroke, I would challenge you to find one instance where I am generalizing. Saying "the police abuse you" doesn't imply all cops do, it implies that many do, which is the case. I also chose specific news stories about police abuse, not just generalizations like you are making about cops being good people.

Juggs..I understand your frustration. Maybe one of the few people here who understand.
But let me play devils advocate for a minute.
What does making this thread accomplish?
There have already been protests, riots, looting, etc etc. It didnt even make any difference.
We got stuff on camera. Makes no difference.
Grand Jury works with prosecutors. People in power have.....Well....POWER.
What does this thread do?
Nothing will happen to solve these problems, because 1. We live in a police state. 2. We dont have any power.
You think we do...but we really dont. We are nothing but underpaid peasants. Close to slaves.
Nothing will ever be done unless the 99% decide they have had enough of the 1%

I started this thread because I thought this wasn't a point of contention anymore, but I guess I thought everyone had taken off the blinders. Clearly some still have not. As I said in the first post, I created this for other people to share their stories of police abuse, but it's just become a place to bicker instead. That's a shame because this is something that needs to be understood.

That's a shame because this is something that needs to be understood. I personally don't have any stories of "abuse" physically. But I think that's because I have my own dash cam and make it well known I record all my encounters with officers. There are a shit ton of assholes though, and they constantly try to attack my pocket book or my license. Keep my nose clean, record the interactions, and I generally get through. But I agree with you more or less Juggs. This is an under discussed problem. I have cop friends, but that doesn't mean a ton of cops don't let the power they have go to their heads. And it can lead to them doing really stupid or horrible things.

Forget the TV show, it was only an example. You'd get your ass kicked. Clear enough?

I am white and was walking down the street one night. I grew up in a town with a huge african immigrant population (not african americans as we think of them, but recent migrants from countries like Sudan and eithopia mostly). It was dark outside (obviously, at night), and I was wearing a hoodie (it was snowing lightly) walking down the street towards a convenience store to buy some Ben n Jerry's. Americone Dream, my favorite flavor. I am on a sidewalk. Suddenly, I hear sirens. This happens a lot because I also live next to the dispatch of Ambulances and fire trucks in my town, but I realize this siren is much quieter than those vehicles. The red and blue blinkers confirm it, the cops are on to my plan to buy some ice cream. The cop pulls of onto the grass. His wheels are touching the sidewalk. "Evening, son", the cop addressed me. "Can you show me some identification please." I was appalled. Haha @ appalled. You gotta understand that this world is crazy, and even crazier in the "minority" neighborhoods. I know because I lived in them hoods for at least half my life. Been through SO MUCH. I was locked up for a few years. Met a LOT of people. I know people who seem like real cool cats, but at the same time will run up on you in the streets to blow your brains out, without warning, if you violated them at all in the past. That's the hood... People who are actually numb to seeing other people murdered right in front of them. Try being a cop in those type hoods. People park in front of the police station in Camden, NJ and still get cars robbed and or vandalized. They kill eachother over basically nothing on a daily basis. If I'm a cop, knowing that, AND that they already hate me, my gun is also pulled. If I ask you to comply with basic shit, you say no, or start rushing me...I'm probably gonna shoot your silly fucking ass too. Fuck that, I gotta family.
