I think 8 wins would be a good first season for Harbaugh That's the minimum for me. If we don't reach at least 8 wins, I think I'll be somewhat dissatisfied with the season. And I think it's a relatively safe bet that at least 8 wins happen. Our defense is going to be super legit this year (even more so if one of our pass rushers can break out), and one of Harbaugh's main specialties is how creative/effective the run game is in his offenses. With all 5 of our OL starters returning from last year, and some pretty talented RBs in Green, Isaac, Smith, and especially Johnson (once he returns from injury), I'm expecting a pretty effective run game this year. What will take our team to the next level is if some of our WRs step up, but that's a longshot to happen imo. Our WRs just aren't good and/or are unproven at this time.

I just hope the Beavs compete week 2. I think we lose that game, but I hope we aren't embarrassed.

LOL and right on cue, our mammoth NT Bryan Mone, probably the best player on our D besides Peppers, breaks his ankle and is out for the year. Smh.

Jonathan Williams will miss the entire season...that is a HUGE blow...very underrated guy, all the attention has always been on Collins. Maybe he'll be granted another year of eligibility..

He was from the recruiting class of 2012. So that means he's a true senior right now. He will be redshirted and will be eligible to return to the team next year.

Preseason AP poll
Not surprised they're this high, but Alabama's still overrated. They are basically the same team as FSU. No QB, lost all playmakers from last year as well as some offensive lineman, though both defenses do look good.
1) Ohio State (61): 1,525 2) TCU: 1,428 3) Alabama: 1,322 4) Baylor: 1,263 5) Michigan State: 1,256 6) Auburn: 1,192 7) Oregon: 1,156 8) USC: 1,085 9) Georgia: 991 10) Florida State: 959 11) Notre Dame: 873 12) Clemson: 862 13) UCLA: 698 14) LSU: 675 15) Arizona State: 605 16) Georgia Tech: 588 17) Ole Miss: 563 18) Arkansas: 410 19) Oklahoma: 394 20) Wisconsin: 393 21) Stanford: 347 22) Arizona: 311 23) Boise State: 240 24) Missouri: 219 25) Tennessee: 114

They are like the Yankees, doesn't matter how many good players they lose, more good players will be bought, in this case recruited, and they will somehow be a top team in the league year in and year out.

They are like the Yankees, doesn't matter how many good players they lose, more good players will be bought, in this case recruited, and they will somehow be a top team in the league year in and year out. I just don't think it makes much sense to look at how good they have been in the past and consider that into their preseason ranking for this upcoming year. They only return two starters on offense (OT Cam Robinson and center Ryan Kelly). So they lose their starting QB, starting RB, all starting WRs, and 3 OLineman. Basically, their entire offense is one gigantic question mark, except for arguably RB where even though Derrick Henry didn't start last year, he got a bunch of carries and played well. Alabama has never (in the Saban era) had to replace this much at the same time before. They are way less proven than a bunch of teams ranked below them in this poll. And that's what the preseason poll is supposed to be.. The teams who have players that have already proven they are, for the most part, legit. I think Alabama should be ranked in the 8-12 range based primarily on their really good (and experienced) defense, but definitely not top 3. Although, yes, you are right that it would surprise nobody to see Bama finish top 5 or something. But I just don't think that's the point.
