the fact is the sports dynasty is a myth. They don't hsappen without manipulation. and in the process you mention the dynasties being the most popular teams or teams from major markets. you make fun of it being Buffalo but bypass the fact that absolutely everything has to go right for that to happen. it doesn't matter which team. 4 in a row is impossible without manipulation against 15/30 other teams. The fact is, your 'fact' isn't a fact at all, it's an article of faith. You believe it's a myth. Dynasties do require manipulation...the front office has to put together (and keep together) the right personnel, the coaching staff has to handle them and game-plan properly, and sometimes they even have to get downright lucky. Your belief is an insult to all those guys who spent blood, sweat, tears, and a lot of money to put together consistent winners. I wasn't making fun; I asked a legitimate question, which you conveniently ignored. Why Buffalo, when there were 25 to 30 bigger markets to be exploited?

baaaaaahaaahaa I had not read any of this thread until now and I only read a few pages. Sounds like me after the Charger game Thursday. Of course I had had a few beers and was upset with the game.
I think there are way to many players to have it predetermined. The Refs could be in on it maybe, but some players would blab. Oh kind of like Eric Allen did. Said the Chargers would never win a super bowl as long as Spanos owned them. Said the NFL would not allow it.

That's flawed logic. The Steelers didn't have a dynasty because they were popular. They were popular because they had a dynasty. I don't get why you're hooked on the Bills. They were the only really good team in the AFC at the time. I don't see this as unbelievable at all. Why did New England start winning? They were terrible for years, why did the NFL decide to let them win a few?
speaking of flawed logic this statement means nothing. where is the sports science that says they were the only good team? that's just a dumb ass remark. yeah right, the nfl is full of the best athletes ever but for a 4 year stretch every player and every team sucked and they were the only ones with the magic? are you seriously that dumb ? come on, think harder.
the fact is that now the steelers are a very popular team. The 4 super bowls made sure the nation is now indoctrinated to love them. They always have winning seasons now. The Rooney's and the Mara's always get their way and the stupid fan calls it winning tradition and somehow the karma cloud of winning never leaves them. They keep cycling to championships while the rest of the NFL scrambles for 3rd and 4th place.
Patriots = R. Kraft, follow the money Here I thought you said you were trying for real discussion? How does you saying what I say is stupid contribute? Fact is, I said the Bills were the only good team in the AFC. Notice that being a good team is different than having all the good players. Also notice I specified the AFC. Your Rooneys Maras thing doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Because they're not always that good. Do the Maras have more money than Kraft? I've no idea. But if I were Kraft and the Mara family was going to be rewarded with Super Bowls I'd be pissed as hell that it was against my historic team.

Why is this thread still going? Some of us played with those troll dolls as children, and this thread is a form of nostalgia for us.

Eric Allen is a smart man who played for a great franchise...he knows what hes talkin bout.
