so what ? the point of recognizing them as a major market is that they have success more often then not compared to a majority of other teams. They are still part of a larger whole and will miss the playoffs once in a while. The major market teams have to rotate missing once in a while to throw a bone to the lesser teams/owners/markets. The entire NFC East is the cool kids table and Dallas has had to take a back seat since they have 8 SB appearances but they've never become a cellar dweller with constant .500 records lately. I liked the White helmet with green wings though, back then There are 32 teams in the league. With the salary caps in place, good teams can't retain all of their best players forever... There will always be fluctuation in team talent. With 32 teams, there will always be drama, last minute comebacks, blow outs, etc... Your theory on the NFL is just plain ridiculous. Explain how the thousands of people that would have to be involved for all of this match fixing have never once let a single bit if information or evidence leak. The problem with you is that no matter how many times you are wrong in your predictions, you will just continue to spew crap. are the playoffs tomorrow / I have gotten no long term prediction wrong yet. The Giants can lose 3 more games and still make the playoffs. what fixing ? employees do what they are told. Its a show. you are obviously not intellectually sound. I don't have to have correct predictions to prove games are staged. you simply don't logically understand that there are way too many unlikely outcomes happening over and over. If the games were played for real...QBs wouldn't last as long and there would be many more punts and field goals per game and per season.
LOL its fascinating that people think pro sports leagues are somehow more sacred and up front. this is a billions of dollars industry. you know absolutely nothing about large organized religion or big business or the wonderful world of national politics but all these things involve billions of dollars and you know its corrupt. why would a player complain ? he makes more money then the common man for 2 or 3 years work and if he complained he immediately called a freak by media and everyone in the league denies it. its not against the law for them to change the outcome of their games because everyone is hired to do that. Its not a secret and no one is being rogue about it.

This brand of trolling at least makes for interesting reading that's not really attacking anyone here. I'll keep laffing while this theory gets blown up. But hey, maybe hes right.

The Browns will have a scary good WR core once Josh Gordon comes back, since Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel are playing great.

Well, I did read the thing. My thoughts: - It basically says this stuff is possible/legal for the teams/leagues to do, therefore they must be doing it. This doesn't make much sense. Just because something could be gotten away with, doesn't necessarily mean it is in fact happening as the writer claims. I think it's a bit of a jump to say something "may be happening" to "it is happening" because of perceived questionable outcomes. - One thing I found about the writing: it kinda sucks. Whoever the author may be, he/she is not very good at proofreading their own work. - In "Fact 1", the author states: "The "Big Four" professional sports leagues - the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), National Basketball Association (NBA), and National Hockey League (NHL) - possess drafts, anti-trust exemptions and revenue sharing. If the teams within these leagues were truly independent entities, none of this would exist as its flies in the face of the free market companies they purport to be." While in the real world of businesses this may be true, in professional team sports it does not equate. They're not independent. They actually rely on each other. If sports teams were as the real business world is there would be far fewer teams, as the bigger revenue teams would force the others out of business. If there's far fewer teams, there is LESS MONEY to be made, because there would be fewer revenue streams for said teams. The leagues realized this years ago and have recognized the necessity to keep each team afloat, which is one of the reasons that teams will change cities from time to time, or in some cases, force the owner to sell to a more stable owner. More teams = more games = more money. That much is pretty simple to understand I think, so this idea that the revenue sharing/anti-trust, etc parts of the individual leagues "proves" they're absolutely involved in fixing any games...again, doesn't compute, unless of course, you've got an agenda and you're desperately trying to sell that. - Saying "sports is entertainment" these days isn't really proving anything, either. It's been said for YEARS. It's still a game, and here's the thing about that: MOST of the people that watch any of the professional team sports leagues have played the games at some point in their lives. Of course at a much lower level, but they still played. MOST of the audience is familiar with how the games go, so to compare what they do to what happens in other forms of entertainment, in which most people have NOT participated in, would also be pointless. The movie "magic" that happens in Hollywood or on T.V. is possible because of several factors, the least of which is different techniques used in creating the story they're telling. To routinely fool 300 million people every game would be much more difficult to do than the writer states. This is one reason why many sports movies fail. The believability factor of the game ON THE FIELD during the telling of the stories is much more difficult to pull off, and so the story suffers because of it. Having a league of actors moving in unison just right or placing a ball in the exact location at the exact time isn't that easy (one reason why the game of football is the ultimate team sport). Movies have the advantage of re-takes, where live action does not. - The story of the Jets fan suing NE and the judge dismissing the case is pointless also. This is a JETS fan we're talking about. Of course he hates NE and if he can profit at all at the team's expense, why not give it a shot? A woman won money from McDonald's for spilling coffee on herself a while back. People sue for anything. I think there's a lot of "this happened so THAT must be the reason" here. Am I saying this never happens? No. It's possible for things to happen from time to time - refs making a call (especially in Basketball) where they wouldn't, or maybe NOT making the call they should - but to look at what things may appear to be and make the jump to "this is definitely how things are" because it's an on-going conspiracy is a little bit much. I'm not convinced. I'd need to see more than one questionable writer's leaps of logic.
