I understand the dislike people have of Romo, but there is no arguing that he is clearly superior than Cutler (and it's not close).
At least Eli has rings (and I can accept him ranked above my beloved QB), but Cutler is a wimp and a turnover machine. He has no business being mentioned as a Top 10 QB.
The homers on the official forums got me riled up and I wanted to see what you guys say.
Thoughts?

Rey, I understand your frustration first hand. I've seen the Gale Sayers Post and read the stuff in there, but after Mantis' killer logic i decided its not even worth it to waste my time. Regardless of how I feel or what arguments I posted with them i'm always wrong and he will not listen to any form of logical thought when doing it. Because of that i've imposed some of the same feelings over on dreday which isnt fair, but its where i'm at right now due to mantis.
With Romo: He had a few major choke moments which will always be brought up till he can rectify it in the playoffs. Statistically he is a great QB and will continue to be such. This year the WR's are slated on taking a step forward which help Romo. Murray will also add to this as the cowboys can return to the run and pass ratio they had with Barber. Last year Romo earned my respect from playing hurt like he did, granted he didnt always do the best, but it showed he was tough.
Cutler: He has struggled up in Chicago since he started because of the poor O-line. Because of this he is constantly getting rushed sacked and injured. It is true that he has less then talented WR's as compared to what Jerry has brought in for Romo, however that's not saying that they didnt have potential. This year he gets Marshal back and Jeffery, so they cant use that excuse anymore.
When comparing these two its like comparing apples and oranges. Romo is a more refined passer and will have a better stat-line once he is done with the game. Cutler has spirit and will always play his heart out till the final whistle blows, I compare him to Tebow, cause even at times he seems so lost his will carries him to a win.
So with that said, yes i'd take Romo over Cutler. Regardless of the WR's or anything he is the better QB fundamentally. I actually thing Cutler does better because of a poor line since it always has him on edge and thinking on the run. When he was in denver he always had better passes off the bootleg and Play-action.
However if Romo wins a ring, then he'd be put near the top qbs in discussions. If Cutler did he'd be similar to Roethlesburger and be close in the media's eye but never being put all the way in the same category.

Cutler had to deal with a offensive coordinator that was the opposite team's defensive coordinator, an offensive line made of ripped paper, and targets that wasn't reliable. All of that changed now. Expect this season to be Cutler's best. Romo always had targets, an offensive coordinator that wasn't the opposite team's defensive coordinator and a good offensive line, but both are very good QBs, but Cutler's ability was hidden by defensive coordinator Mike Martz due to the fact that Cutler couldn't audible at the line of scrimmage

I have Romo as a top 10 QB. I have Cutler 4 or 5 places behind him. It's pretty close though and a lot of Cowboys won't accept that. Romo is backed by those who over value stats. Stats that he wouldn't have achieved outdoors in the cold and wind of Denver and Chicago. Romo is more consistent but he has the propensity to make inexplicably bad choices in pressure situations. He doesn't have Cutler's physical attributes either. Romo is near the ceiling of his potential. Cutler is not.
Better QB overall today: Romo Most future ProBowl appearances: Romo Most future Playoff games: Cutler
I'm guessing this isn't what you want to hear. Sorry about that. He's good, but not elite.

If we had a non-mobile QB, he'd probably be retired due to injury.

Cutler is much better than Romo. It isn't a contest. (JK) @rey I will disagree with you until you admit that you copied my avatar!!!

I think Cutler is a more talented QB. I would take him on my team long before Romo. I can't stand people calling Cutler a wimp. He WAS FUCKING INJURED in the NFC champ game. Do you honestly think that he wouldn't have played had he thought he would have been the better choice for his team? obviously he was hurt bad enough that he thought giving it to the backup was the better idea. None of us know how badly he was hurt.. leave it alone its starting to piss me off..
Now, as for the two I prefer Cutlers play style, he has more athletic ability as far as running and arm strength. Romo is more accurate, but accuracy is one thing. If I wanted to win a Superbowl I would want Cutler as my QB. In the 4th quarter of the Superbowl down by 5 one drive to win the game I would take Cutler every time. He makes mistakes but remember most of the last few years he has been throwing off of his back foot every play.

The phrase 'good offensive line' is comparative rather than an absolute. If Romo had been behind the Bears O-Line for the last 2 years he might have retired. Watching Orlando Pace go out like that was just sad.
