I have been studying Reggies plan a lot and it's actually really simple. He's cutting all of the over-paid under preforming guys who wouldn't restructure, and getting rid of the twilight of their career players. Next he isn't going after the top names, instead is drafting solid mid level talent. Reggie McKenzie a very, very smart man. ;D Oakland is LUCKY to have stolen him away from GB. During his nearly 20 years in the Packers front office, he learned everything he knows from the BEST- Ron Wolf. The Packers eventually became an elite team (although it took a couple of years) because they focused-- on targeting draft steals in the middle rounds and then developing their talent. Although--that said--Oakland should probably try and keep Palmer (ala Wolf's revolving veteran backup-to-Favre QB stable--HELLO Jim McMahon). The rumors might be FLYING because Reggie "knows" Flynn, but as a 7th round draft pick in 2008 (the year Rodgers became the starting QB), he was really just an after-thought/insurance pickup--they had much higher hopes for their 2nd round pick, Brian Brohm--now a poster-boy for that "where are they now?" honors Ironically, if Flynn wasn't hold the clipboard for Rodgers, the guy-who-was-holding-the-clipboard for Favre, he probably wouldn't still be in the league, either. A one-time, 400+yd, 5TD game DOES NOT a NFL QB make. PS-- I predict Pryor's days in Oakland are numbered. As a Big-Ten fan, I saw LOTS of Pryor in his college days at Ohio State. He might fit the mold of this flavor-of-the-year "read-option" QB--ala RGIII, Russell Wilson, Kaepernick, or Tebow--but he ain't got the skills-set or football-intelligence of any of those young men. (BTW, neither does Denard Robinson--Michigan's QB wonderboy--who at least realizes the NFL potential of his limited talent and is looking to hookup with any NFL team in his more natural skill position as a RB/WR).

I like this move...Flynn is a good quarterback. But we need to get a good system in there, and get some playmakers around him or it wont even matter who the quarterback is.

Palmer>Flynn.. IMO Palmer is the second most underrated QB in the league behind Romo. He has been doing fine in Oakland with little to no help anywhere on their offense and now they want to get rid of him for someone totally unproven? I guess that Flynn has some game tape but very very little. In fact he got benched for an entire year behind a rookie QB when they paid him big bucks to come to Seattle has Palmer ever lost his starting job do to anything other than injury?

Romo underrated? LMAO! ;D He's OVERRATED! People think he's a good QB...and he is. He's not bad. But he is a purely stat QB and the biggest choker...every time the game is on the line he chokes. Has only been to playoffs once in the last few years..and the Boys have talent. The one time they got to the playoffs he choked there too...
Most underrated QB in the league, IMO, is Kolb.

But I'm biased...I'm a Romo/Boys hater... I won't cheer for the Cowboys but Romo is a FAR better QB than most people give him credit for. He isn't worth what they are paying him now not a chance, but he is underrated by the majority of people. He is a great QB who has had a shitty O-line the majority of his career and he still puts up great stats every year. To me the whole choker label for any QB is bullshit to win games in the playoffs its a team effort. Sure he had some bad plays at key situations but at least one of the plays I can think of wouldn't have happened had his line been able to block properly. Its a team sport. (I am happy the boys lose though )

Well to be fair to Flynn, we do have more than game tape on him. Reggie worked with him in GB, so he's very familiar with what he can do and what he brings to the team. I'm just hoping that Reggie isn't to enamored with bringing in his old guys to Oakland instead of the best option available.

I am not meaning to bash Flynn at all I think he has potential to be a good QB in this league.. I just don't understand the way the Raiders are handling Palmer! I think he is a top 10 QB in talent, and if the Raiders would actually give him something to work with he would show it. Flynn could be good too just think they should keep Palmer. As of right now Palmer is the better QB of the two, not saying Flynn couldn't be but why give up a good QB when they aren't exactly easy to come by? Palmer IMO is the best option available..

Palmer is pushing our hand. We asked him to restructure his contract from $13M to $10M and he refused. Then Silver's report came out that he's unhappy there and wants to play for a contender, and that he doesn't like the was Reggie and DA do business. Then about a week later the trade for Flynn pops up. I don't know the full story, neither side has official stated anything, and Palmer hasn't said anything directly, so we shall see. But this way it shows us that Mckenzie won't bow down to obscured contracts nor will they take kindly to threats like that. And the rumors are that we'll cut him, which also shows we won't keep problem players just because we want to prove a point. The locker room emotion is very important and it seems the brass see that and aren't going to let negativity invade. Tomorrow (monday, well today now) and Tuesday will be very telling. Palmer might be playing hard ball and will come to his senses now that the Raiders have answered back. In any case this is a very telling time in Oakland, and as part of the Raiders Nation it's both exciting and frightening as it's the fist
