Jury still out on Kolb, he is injury prone...but he played very well last season.

And to be fair Matt Cassel had 2 good seasons, and 2 decent seasons. He also had one very bad one last year, but lets not forget the team he was playing on. But his career as a starter is probably over at this point, unless Christian Ponder struggles.
Kolb shows talent when he plays, but he hasnt starter a full season yet after playing 6 years in the league. That is more of a concern than talent, but I think if you gave him a consistant offensive line it might be a different story.

Cassel has had 2 good seasons and 3 bad ones, and his 2 good ones weren't too impressive
I thought Kolb looked like crap in Philly, I have no idea why Arizona gave up so much for him, not sure what they saw in him, he threw for more INTs than TDs

Kolb has the potential to do good still, and he shined at times in philly.

this is an excellent move. by no means am i a matt flynn believer, however he is young and has alot of potential to be good.
the raiders have to start looking at the future and cut ties with palmer, and find ways to get younger. time for the youth movement to began
at least this way they wont have to spend a draft pick on a QB next year or this year. they can focus on maybe getting clowney from south carolina

They have been already bengal, though I'd rather have Palmer here when we do get the next QB so we'd have a vet to help bring him up. But Palmer wants other things. I don't want a QB this year, I just don't see the talent level being worth it, and I don't want to become the Browns v2.0 and draft QBs year after year.
I have been studying Reggies plan a lot and it's actually really simple. He's cutting all of the over-paid under preforming guys who wouldn't restructure, and getting rid of the twilight of their career players. Next he isn't going after the top names, instead is drafting solid mid level talent. While many people are thinking, why do this, why do you want a team full of mid level talent? The answer is easy. We are bringing in young hungry guys who haven't had the best shot at starting yet, and giving them a chance to fight for it. Justin Hunter is my poster boy when I discuss this, so I'll use him here too. He was a good player in denver, but he never turned the corner and became the starter. So he's going to come into Oakland where we have a clean slate and where he can fight to get the 1st team and at the same time get better. And the reverse of this is much much better too. Instead of having such a huge gap between the starters and backups, namely on defense, we will have a more well rounded team from 1st squad to 3rd/4th. So if someone does get injured, we aren't automatically so much worse.
I don't see us ever over paying for talent, and think we will see a much more economical, yet better ball club in Oakland. It maybe better this year than last year, and if things go right we could reach 8-8. But this is a slow process, and Rome wasn't built in a day. So we will have to be patient and let the team come together. This is going to be tough for many Raiders fans as we have dealt with it for so long, but it's necessary. We need to stick with Reggie and DA at least 5 years and let it all come together, let them bring in consistancy and let them install their system properly.
Things are on the right track now and will get legitimately better.

I'd rather have Flynn. Palmer is SO expensive, Shaggzy, for a mediocre QB

Experience is a valuable asset too, especially when bringing in rookie Qb's. Flynn is Reggie's guy, and he has been intent on bringing in former Packers it seems. Can't say too much about Flynn, he didn't play enough to gauge.
