@sean: I understand that a woman who was raped...she has to go through a lot...because of what a man did to her. And it is a terrible thing. But it's still not ok to kill the child because of it.

It probably sounds extremely lame but it would be nice to have a female's point of view on abortion in this discussion, especially regarding whether a raped woman should be forced to go through the pregnancy or not. I couldn't imagine the feeling of having some organism that is the spawn of my rapist growing inside of my stomach for 9 months. I second that, no fucking way.. If I was the women carrying the child of a rapist.. no way.. My theory is that it is not of their consent that the child was created so why should it be their responsibility?

jancey, I respect your answer. It's not my place to tell someone what is morally or religiously correct. That's a person's individual choice. I just see things from a pragmatic point of view. Unfortunately pragmatism is often empty and morally bankrupt.

But it's still not ok to kill the child because of it. so the woman has to pay for two things she didn't want - being raped and waiting 9 months to born the child in that case she had no choice in getting pregnant or not

The trauma from that happening is bad enough and changes the person forever, but to remind that person for the next 9 months what happened so the child of a rapist can be born?

I think chance should also be considered into abortion and by that, I mean the chance the child will actually have a comfortable life. Should we really force birth on a child for them to only live in hunger and poverty for so many years? That is why I support free abortions for low income families. Middle class and rich people...pay for that shit yourself.

Don't get "knocked up". That was the decision they made when they did it. People do things they regret all the time, but they have to be held responsible for it. Like if someone went off and killed someone and were sentenced to jail for 15 years..they might regret they did it. So they regret it, they're sorry they did it so we should just let them free right? Living in prison for 15 years is hard... some only regret getting caught... And only some of the women regret what they did
