That letter is not from the shooter. It is an internet fraud. It is signed Brian. The shooters name is Adam. It is either a fake some idiot posted (wasn't it originally reported his brother did it and I think his name is Brian) or it is from a student who knew he was going to die. My money is it is someones sick joke.

No the letter on the first page was from one of the children at the school who wrote it during the shooting. Craig I am trying to find it again, the page I had found it on has been removed. I don't know if it was found to be a fake letter, or if the police asked it to be taken down as it was evidence, but I am trying to find another copy now.

I cannot find the full letter again anywhere, but this touches on part of what was in it. I imagine as the weeks go by it will come out again. Though honestly for the families it would be best if the focus isn't on him.

Craig...I can see your point about the video games, movies, etc etc. Even though you yourself was not making the point. The media does bring it up everytime something like this happens.
I do remember my son when he was 6 or 7 years old,and he would watch power rangers, dragon ball z, and play video games. He would go up to his sister and act like he was a power ranger or something. When it was time for him to go outside,I could see him out there acting out those cartoons and video games with sticks from the yard. One day one of his little friends was over and they were out there as usual acting that stuff out and next thing you know his friend is getting a stick upside the face ,coming very close to his eye. He had a big gash right up under his eye, missing his eye by just a little bit. From there on out I would tell him that he couldnt do that, that someone would get hurt. If he didnt mind me he would get his ass beat.
My son is now 25 years old and he is doing perfectly fine in life. Even though he works as a store manager in a Game Stop,he doesnt have any issues separating fantasy from reality.
My point is that stuff affects people differently. Im like you.....I didnt have too much stuff like that when I was a kid. Video games were just coming out. I played outside alot when I was younger. Watched TV shows like Gilligans Island,Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver. Watched cartoons like Tom and Jerry and Road Runner,Bugs Bunny.
I dont have to tell anybody whats out there nowadays. Society is broken. People dont care about people like they did 40 years ago. We have broken homes and single parent homes. Parents working 12 to 14 hours a day just to make ends meet. If not that ,working 2 or maybe even 3 jobs.
People spend way too much time on cell phones and the internet and even though it may seem like we connect more with people, theres a big disconnect there on a personal level.
I dont know this kids life, and what if anything was wrong with him, whether or not he had a mental disorder,or whatever his life may have dealt him,but this particular kid was failed somewhere down the line.
To blame video games or movies blantantly and widespread is wrong, but part of me thinks it does have a part in it,just because everyone is affected in a different way.
Society is broken, and until we get back to family and God,things like this will continue to happen.
There is no easy answer to all of these issues, except to look to God. Mankind will never solve every life issue.
I feel so terribly bad for the families that lost one of their loved ones in this tragedy, including all of the precious little first graders that had their whole life in front of them, and everyone of us should pray for them. We dont know what God's plan is,but we just have to keep the faith.

Thanks for seeing and pointing out that I didn't say video games are to blame Jeffb. I just wanted the opinion of our younger people here. Because this is the only place I know to ask that has so many youngsters. LOL.
The letter was posted on my face book and it is now gone from there also.

Morgan Freeman rocks. He put it in the best way possible:
"You want to know why. This may sound cynical, but here's why.
It's because of the way the media reports it. Flip on the news and watch how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single *victim* of Columbine? Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basements see the news and want to top it by doing something worse, and going out in a memorable way. Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster, instead of a sad nobody.
CNN's article says that if the body count "holds up", this will rank as the second deadliest shooting behind Virginia Tech, as if statistics somehow make one shooting worse than another. Then they post a video interview of third-graders for all the details of what they saw and heard while the shootings were happening. Fox News has plastered the killer's face on all their reports for hours. Any articles or news stories yet that focus on the victims and ignore the killer's identity? None that I've seen yet. Because they don't sell. So congratulations, sensationalist media, you've just lit the fire for someone to top this and knock off a day care center or a maternity ward next.
You can help by forgetting you ever read this man's name, and remembering the name of at least one victim. You can help by donating to mental health research instead of pointing to gun control as the problem. You can help by turning off the news."

I haven't stopped thinking about my kids since this has happened on friday, and hate being so far away from them. Something big is going to come out of this. I do not know what exactly the president is thinking of working on, but you can tell it hit him as close to home as it did for many of us as parents. His first speech after finding out about the tragedy: www.digitaljournal.com/article/339077And the one tonight, where you could tell how hard he was fighting back his own emotions: I do not always agree with his policies or what he sets in motion, but he has earned my utmost respect. Show me a man who bares his emotions, and I will show you a man worthy of trust. Regardless of what he's planning on changing, his full heart is behind it, and I respect that.
