I can't believe what I heard on ESPN this morning, Big Ben is the worst QB in the AFC North, Really Let me see, Lamar Jackson , last year's MVP , has one, count them ONE playoff win so far. One of the analysts pointed out with Yanda retiring the OL was in flux and Lamar had to run for his life, well isn't that EXACTLY what his forte is, because it surely isn't touch passing. By the way no SB win either. Joe burrow, had a pretty good start to his career but anoitting him right now is premature, after his knee injury is pretty radical, and CORRECT if I am wrong but didn't Baker Mayfield light it up his rookie year only to fall his sophomore year in the NFL. And speaking of Mayfield, didn't Cleveland have to redo its OL after trading Reitmer to NYG and that is why baker had a comeback year this year. And by the way didn't Cleveland for a few years earlier trade their top five draft picks before Baker at #1 for a ton of draft picks to get guys like Myles Garrett and trade for Landry and OBJ. Back to Big Ben, at one point this year the Steelers were 11-0 under Ben and it was only when the defense suffered injuries to Watt, Bush and Dupree plus injuries to Villaneuva and othesr didn't that account for no running game ( well they haven't had much of a running game since Leveon Bell in his WISDOM?? turned down a $14 miil per year contract 4 year contract only to sign with the NYJ for less money and a terrible OL that I spoke of in my Sam Darnold post). Big Ben has made so many of the Pittsburgh receiving corps it isn't funny. Plexiglass Burress, didn't do shit after leaving, the guy now in NO who used to be in Denver(name starts wit an E) hasn't been a top flight guy since leaving, Antonio brown, sure as hell hasn't done crap despite all his self HYPE and I will bet wherever JuJu goes he will flop as well. Big Ben is a winner, yes he is long in the tooth, getting older by the day but the guy has a fluid throwing motion , similar to TB 12, Aaron Rodgers and many others, and if he has a line that gives him time he is every bit as accurate as any of those mentioned. So let me say this to all those ESPN naysayers, you are wrong, Big Ben played with the same line that Mason Rudolph and those others played behind last year , they were not all that successful, he was until the OL got decimated, then and only then did his age become a detriment. Understand this, I learned this many many years ago, it is ALWAYS all about the offensive and defensive lines my friends. I pointed it out in my two previous posts, about Dak and how he came into the league with a top 5 line in front of him, All Pros, T Smith, Zack Martin and Fredrickson, plus A 2000 yard scrimmage RB named Elliot, receivers like Dez Bryant and Witten, later to become Cooper, Cobb, Beasley, Schultz, and CeeDee Lamb. Darnold has no all pros on his OL nor a decent running game, nor top flight receivers. On the other side of the ball remember DLs like Deacon Jones, Rosey Grier, Merlin Olsen and Lamar Lundy, or Too Tall Jones, Jethro Pugh, and Bob Lilly, or so many other great lines of the past, You all see what I am saying, good OL and good DL operating at the same time produce SUPER BOWLS, they make our heroes lie the Aikman's. Bradshaw's. Starrs etc.
