101mitch draft analysis/questions [1] "I am not buying the Clowney hype" --> "Clowney is a once in a decade player". Not sure what stance you are taking considering you went on both sides of the spectrum. Do you mean the hype of him going to Houston? If so, who is hyping Clowney to Houston? If anything, people are hyping him being the top pick with Houston being the team to cash in on it. [2] You think the JAX thing with them saying they may not go QB is a smokescreen? [3] You think OAK will decide to go with Pryor after not being in his corner much at all the year prior? [4] You think Carr ends up going to MIN at 8? I think they are a match considering Norv likes strong-arm QBs, but you think MIN takes him at their original pick? [5] Mosley to the Giants? Mosley is predominantly an inside linebacker, and there are talks that the feeling is mutual with Beason and the Giants reaching a deal. [6] You would have Ealy as a 3-4 OLB? [7] Would you have Joyner playing CB or safety? [8] Would have liked analysis for the 11-32 picks Oops. I meant not buying the hype for Clowney to go #1. I will clarify. Yes Pryor or McGloin. Probably draft a 2nd round QB in that situation Yeah. I don't see anyone trading up with the Vikings, so they pull the trigger at 8. You know more about the Giants than I do. Ummm... CB or Safety. Probably a little of both. It was taking too long. lol

Out of those 3 different players selected for the Saints, I'd be most happiest with Odell Beckham or Calvin Pryor. Not a knock on Shazier, but I'm pretty sure he plays the exact same position as Galette does. There's nothing Shazier can do that Galette can't. So good job cityofchamps, Juggs

Spence was smaller and they loved that guy

Well Juggs and I had the most similar mock drafts. REALLY shocked though that plax also had Jordan Matthews at 18 and Mitch had him at 26 to CLE.

He had 22.5 tackles for loss this past year at Ohio St. It just so happens that the position he plays, the Saints don't need.

Analysis about my own mock draft: I hated this first mock draft of mine. I included way too many receivers, and next MDC update I'll be changing that. It was too much of a knee-jerk reaction post the WR-combine when I wrote it. Also, if I could change some of my picks right now, I'd move Aaron Donald at least 5 picks up from 32, I'd include Jason Verrett in the 1st somewhere, and I'd remove Seferian-Jenkins from the 1st. Things I liked about each mock draft (because they agreed with me, haha): - plax, 101mitch: I loved the inclusion of Jordan Matthews in the first round. That's really solid to do that before the "experts" start mocking him there.. I just don't see how he won't be drafted in the 1st now. He has game and personality. Had the biggest hands of all WR's at the combine, the most bench press reps of all relevant WR's (21), has great size at 6"3 215, and was excellent in the positional drills; he didn't drop a ball throughout the entire combine workouts, and ran each drill all the way through the end zone like his relative Jerry Rice used to do. I noticed yesterday that teams that had interviews with Matthews were the Jets and Ravens (17/18). They can't possibly think they're going to get him at 2.17/2.18, do they? I think it means he's being looked at as a mid-1st rd pick now. - plax: Love the inclusion of Bradley Roby in the first round. I think yeah, he got burned several times this past year but those were anomalies IMO. - Juggs: Justin Gilbert to DET is something I've anticipated for a long time. Really like slotting him there because it just seems to fit perfectly. It reminds me of the year Dontari Poe came into being and I just consistently mocked him to the Chiefs for months. cityofchamps: I agree with Dee Ford to ARI. They seem like the team who would take a chance on him. 101mitch, plax: Ryan Shazier to the Saints makes sense to me, despite what MO says lol. He met with the Saints like the first day of the combine if that means anything. 2/25/14 Beast's Grades:101mitch: D+ Beastified: D+ cityofchamps: C Juggs: C plax: C+ Yeah, no one even deserves a B this time around in my opinion. It's good that we are all over the place, but at the same time there were some real headscratcher picks in each of our mock drafts that really bombed each of our grades for me. And don't even get me started on my own mock draft. 8 receivers. lol.
