Final score: Rams 31 - Chiefs 17
Defending my team:
Look we didn't do as bad as it seems. It looks by the box score we played awful, and the Rams creamed us on every aspect in the game. That is not true. Our defense was better than the score indicates. Our 1st team offense was great! Lots of positives to take from this game. I will go through the positives and negatives, as well as point out our OMVP, DMVP, STMVP, and coach MVP.
Awards:
OMVP: Matt Cassel
13/18, 142 yards
He showed poise, and he really just went out there and played. I honestly believe that if both teams starters stayed it would have been VERY close. He responded from being down 14-0, came out and lead a 10 play, 80 yard drive for the TD. He also lead the 2:00 drill. Or should I say 45 second drill. Led us with 1 timeout to get the FG.
Honorable mention: Jamaal Charles, 35 total yards, 5.7 YPA
Brady Quinn, 5/6, 70 yards, TD
DMVP: Eric Berry, 5 tackles, 4 solo
I thought he was all over the field. That and nobody else was worthy of this spot.
Honorable Mention: N/A
STMVP: Jalil Brown
He once again showed off his ST skills today. Flying all over the place on kick team, hitting some people on Return.
Honorable Mention: Devon Wylie, 22 yard return avaerage
CMVP: Brian Doball
This is a combo of game 1 and 2. He has given Cassel the tools to be good, and has evolved this O. I think we can be very good under him.
Couple of things to say:
- Our secondary should improve when Flowers and Travis Daniels are back in there.
- Dwayne Bowe has signed, (Woo!!) and is allowed to practice fully in pads this coming Tuesday. He can go through any drills with the team as long as they aren't in pads today, and Monday.
- Jamaal Charles is back baby! Get ready, Hillis and Charles will be deadly!
- Kendrick Lewis left mad, and holding his shoulder. Details to come.
These are people who have IMO earned there spot based on Pre Season:
- Shane Draughn, Steve Maneri, Jerome Horne, Tysen Hartman, Jerell Powe
These people improved themselves on the Depth Chart:
- Dexter Mccluster, Abe Elam, Jalil Brown, All people above^
GO CHIEFS!
