Here is something that I havent even heard up until today for some reason. These are Tom Brady's numbers against Jack Del Rio defenses:
• 12/14/2003 vs. Jacksonville: 22-for-34, 228 yards, two TDs, 0 INTs. Patriots win, 27-13.
• 1/7/2006 playoffs vs. Jacksonville: 15-for-27, 201 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs. Patriots win, 28-3.
• 12/24/2006 at Jacksonville: 28-for-39, 249 yards, one TD, 0 INTs. Patriots win, 24-21.
• 1/12/2008 playoffs vs. Jacksonville: 26-for-28, 262 yards, three TDs, 0 INTs. Patriots win, 31-20.
• 12/27/2009 vs. Jacksonville: 23-for-26, 267 yards, four TDs, 0 INTs. Patriots win, 35-7.
• 10/7/2012 vs. Denver: 23-for-31, 223 yards, one TD, 0 INTs. Patriots win, 31-21.
• 11/24/2013 vs. Denver: 34-for-50, 334 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs. Patriots win, 34-31.
To sum it up Tom Brady has never lost to Jack Del Rio's defenses. His teams are a combined 7-0 against them. His official numbers against Del Rio's defenses are 17 TD's, 0 INT's, 1764 yards, 73% Completions.

Steve Beauharnais declared out with an illness. The flu is going around the locker room.
Dobson, Thompkins, and Allen are listed as questionable.
I would be shocked if Allen didnt play. A punter would have been signed by now if he wasnt going to be able to play. Although Gostkowski did put out a solid 45 yard punt average, but it is hard to rely on him to be a good situational punter.
Either Dobson or Thompkins will play. I am not saying both will play for sure or only one of them will play for sure, but at least one of them will play for sure. If that makes any sense. A receiver would have been signed or promoted from the practice squad if both wernt going to play.

And Dobson spoke to the media today, which typically indicates that he will go. Players rarely speak to the media if they arnt going to play.

Bill Belichick is the only active Head Coach who has never held a collegiate position in his career.

Should be around 60 degrees at kickoff, with 10-15 mph winds. Almost dome like conditions.
Here some key stats from last match up:
Tom Brady 34/50 344 yards 3 TD 0 INT
Peyton Manning 19/36 150 yards 2 TD 1 INT
Brandon Bolden 13 carries 58 yards 1 TD
Shane Vereen 10 carries 31 yards 0 TD
Knowshon Moreno 37 carries 224 yards 1 TD
Monte Ball 7 Carries 40 yards 0 TD
Julian Edelman 9 Catches 110 yards 2 TD
Shane Vereen 8 Catches 60 yards 0 TD
Jacob Tamme 5 Catches 47 yards 1 TD
Demaryius Thomas 4 Catches 41 yards 1 TD
Now there are a lot of things to consider when looking at these numbers and trying to determine how they will play into this matchup.
The first thing you have to look at is injuries in this game, so here is my breakdown:
Rob Gronkowski: Played about 80 percent of the snaps in the week 12 matchup. His presence was best felt in the redzone, and the team struggled from week 1-6 because of him not being on the field. Our offense has actually been statistically better without Gronk on the field, in the last 5 weeks, although it was worse from weeks 1-6. Our ability to run the ball in the redzone has made up for any struggles in the passing game in the redzone. While on paper this is a big loss, I do not see it being a big difference in this second matchup because of the way our offense has adjusted.
Brandon Spikes: One of the top run defending LB's in the league, maybe even the best. Spikes is also one of the worst pass defending LB's in the league, mostly because of his over 5 second 40 time. Spikes was placed on IR because of a knee injury that he has been playing through all season. I do not think he would have been placed on IR if Jamie Collins wasnt playing so well. Collins had not hit his stride in the first matchup, and I think he will actually be an upgrade over Spikes because of his rare athletic ability, and his ability to cover TE's and receivers.
Alfonzo Dennard: Dennard attempted to play on a Torn Meniscus, he managed to play about 15 snaps and then could not continue. Dennard is one of the more underrated corners in the league, and it will be huge to have him on the field. I think this is the best secondary Bill Belichick has ever coached.
Kyle Arrington: Played through an injured groin. His status was in question up until game time. He had a great game playing through the injury, and he basically shut down Wes Welker. He is one of the best slot corners in the league, his issue is when he is asked to play outside of the slot.
Aqib Talib: He was another game time decision in the week 12. Talib had one of his best games of the year, playing mostly on Demaryious Thomas. He is closer his week 5 form than his week 11-14 form. In other words he is a lot more healthy now, and should be able to take out any one receiver out of the game.
Steve Gregory: Missed the week 12 matchup with a broken thumb. Duran Harmon played pretty well with the exception of 1 Jacob Tamme TD. I dont think Gregory is that much better than Harmon, even though he is a starting safety. I look at this one as having additional depth in the secondary, which we were lacking in the week 12 game.
Legarrette Blount: Blount was knocked unconscious on only his second carry, in which he fumbled the football. Blount has been dominating the past 3 weeks, and him being on the field will make a huge difference.
Aaron Dobson: Dobson Broke his foot in the second quarter. If not for his injury I think he would have finished with over 60 catches as he seemed to finally have good chemistry with Brady. He reinjured that foot 4 weeks ago, and is listed as questionable. He will be able to stretch the field if he can play.
Marcus Cannon: Left the game with a broken ankle in the second quarter. He has started as RT since Sebastian Vollmer was placed on IR. He is a key to our pass protection and running game.
Michael Hoomananwanui: Did not play in the first game with a knee injury. He has been one of our most underrated players this year. He is a very good run blocking TE, and can slip out in the open field for an occasional catch. A big part of our running game.
Von Miller: Was a solid player in the first matchup. His lost will be felt mostly in the pass rush. Seems to be having a down season, but still a big lost for an already struggling Denver defense.
Chris Harris JR: Losing a starting corner against either Brady or Manning isnt a good thing. Harris has looked like a solid corner too me, but I am going off limited knowledge. Someone else could probably fill me in on his play.
Derek Wolfe: He had very little impact in the week 12 matchup. A solid player, who hasnt played much this season. I dont see this lost making any real difference.
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie: Left the game on the final play of the final quarter. A decent cover corner, who will have to play better with Harris out.
Julius Thomas: His presence is felt over the middle. I thought Jacob Tamme played very well in the first matchup, and I dont exactly get why so many people think Thomas will make a huge difference. Either way he is a solid player, but I think Collins will be able to handle him.
Champ Bailey: Havent seen much of him this season, and I get the feeling that he has lost a step. Someone else will have to fill me in on his play this season.

No transactions to be reported today.
This pretty much confirms that Ryan Allen is a go. Stepthen Gostkowski could still be the punter over Allen, but that would surprise me. I do think either Brady or Mallett will hold on extra points/field goals. Allen's shoulder shouldnt effect punts, but catching the snap on a field goal/holding could be a little more difficult.

Brady could also punt, or we could just either not get to fourth down or not punt...

Brady could also punt, or we could just either not get to fourth down or not punt... I bet this is the game plan. Convert third downs.

Brady could also punt, or we could just either not get to fourth down or not punt... I bet this is the game plan. Convert third downs. Or better yet, get a first down or a TD on every play. Or we could just force a fumble/int and take it back for a TD on every play, the offense wouldnt even need to take the field.
