These games are usually painful, but not having Gilmore or Byrd is going to make this ever worse. Granted, Byrd's contract whining and current injury have me looking forward to him leaving Buffalo. Hopefully the Bills can get something for him.
At this point, I'd just like to see Manuel show some potential and to have some receivers beyond Stevie step up.

It isnt looking good for the Bills defense, but I dont think there offense is that bad. Manuel looked good in preseason and I was really impressed with Robert Woods. Stevie Johnson has always been a solid receiver, and CJ Spiller/Fred Jackson are a solid running game. I think this game will be closer than most people think.

My biggest worry with Manuel is that he's coming off an injury that caused him to miss the last half of his first ever preseason. That's a lot of reps to miss for a guy who hasn't played an NFL game. I'll be happy if the final point gap isn't too large.

Byrd is officially inactive for today. Can't help to wonder if his medical issue would have been identified sooner had he been around for the start of training camp.

That was pretty much as classic of a Bills game as we can get. Plenty of penalties and mental mistakes to give ourselves the best chance to lose. I was impressed by how well the defense held up considering that Gilmore and Byd were out. I would have liked to see more from our passing game. Stevie and Chandler both had at least one bad drop.

I live, and I'm ready for another heartbreaking season of Bills fandom.

More aftermath from the game: WR Marquise Goodwin and CB Ron Brooks are out indefinitely, though no current plans to put either on IR.
