I was wanting to post about the Hogs...and didn't know where to post it, so I figured I might as well get a General Discussion thread up...anyhow, the Hogs are facing an uphill battle...we've lost Tyler Wilson and Brandon Allen was awful in limited time last season...(His 1st start was against Bama, so whadaya expect right? But UL Monroe c'mon)...so we're gonna have a Sophomore QB, a Sophomore and a Freshman RB, a young defense, pretty much young everything. New coaches in pretty much every position...and a very young team. On top of that, we have one of the toughest schedules in all of college football this season. Bleacherreport ranked our schedule as the 2nd toughest. bleacherreport.com/articles/1640658-power-ranking-the-toughest-schedules-in-college-football-in-2013/page/10Here's the schedule: vs Louisiana - W vs Samford - W vs Southern Mississippi - W @ Rutgers - W vs Texas A&M - L @ Florida - L vs South Carolina - L @ Alabama - L^^^ ^^^ vs Auburn - W @ Ole Miss - L vs Mississippi State - L @ LSU - L Worst case: 3-9 (1st 3) Best case: 6-6 (1st 3 + Rutgers, Auburn, Ole Miss)

Hell, half of UGA 's team will be locked up and/or suspended for the 1st 2-4 games. S. Spurreir said that he loves playing Georgia for this very reason..........

(And Jancey don't only say Arky/arky players or I will urinate in your lemonade! ) College Football's great man...you really need to get into it...I like NFL better, but no holdouts or douches wanting more and more money, etc... Clowney and Marquise Lee...absolute beasts. MO loves Sammy Watkins but I've barely seen him play...haven't really watched much of Clemson, but I'm gonna try to watch a few games just to see him this year. Don't know what to tell you for teams...just watch what you can and pick a favorite team!

I'd add Yeldon and Manziel to the list of guys to really watch. I mean, I could name several more, but to keep it simple... Clowney/Lee/Watkins/Yeldon/Manziel

Coming off a bowl game we let slip through our fingers, this will be Hoke's make or break year. We finally have enough talent and depth to where we can't blame RichRod anymore. I think we upgrade on every level on defense.
Barring injuries, our DL this year will have the most depth it's had in forever.
At LB, previous WILL linebacker Desmond Morgan is sliding over to MIKE, which is his natural position. He will be replacing the graduated Kenny Demens. Taking his spot at WILL will be James Ross III, who was honestly our best looking freshman last year. Collectively, the Michigan fanbase has high hopes for Ross III. We did lose Thor, who was our SAM lb, but he is being replaced by a redshirt senior with plenty of experience, so that position won't be a liability, even though it won't be as good as it could be with Thor.
As for the DBs, we lose SS Jordan Kovacs and CB JT Floyd. Kovacs' presence among the defense will be certainly missed, but Floyd was never that good, to be honest. He got burned all day long in the SCar game. We get Blake Countess back this season, but he is coming off an ACL tear he suffered in the Bama game. He is our best CB. Replacing Kovacs at safety will be our former FS, Thomas Gordon. He is very capable of making the transition to SS. Taking Gordon's spot at FS will be sophomore Jarrod Wilson. He looked decent last year when he got snaps, but I want to see him bulk up and gain more confidence. He has tremendous talent, but he has confidence issues according to reports.
______________________________
Offense has more question marks. The interior line, although awful last year, graduated three seniors and we will be breaking in 2 RS freshman, and one RS sophomore. The interior line has more talent than last year, but they are younger, more inexperienced, and don't have the chemistry yet. A lot of this Michigan's offensive success this year will depend on how good the interior line is. Exterior OL one of the best in the country though, Taylor Lewan mans the left, while Michael Schofield is RT. Schofield is also getting major NFL looks.
QB is Devin Gardner, who looked absolutely great in the time he started at QB, given the circumstances. With a full offseason of working on nothing but QB, I expect him to have a breakout year.
WR is also questionable. Our best WR stands at only 5'8, which needless to say is not ideal size. He does everything outstanding, great route runner, great athleticism, great hands, but his height really hinders him. Starting opposite of him is 6'2 RS freshman Amara Darboh. I expect Darboh to be good, but not great this year. And that's all you can realistically ask out of a first year starter, so I'm ok with that.
RB is also very questionable, while not as questionable as the interior OL, this is right behind it. Fitz Toussaint is coming off a broken ankle, so nobody knows how he'll come back after an injury like that. The percieved starter will be incoming freshman Derrick Green, who was rated as the #1 RB out of high school. I expect him to split carries with Toussaint, should Toussaint come back well from his ankle injury. If Toussaint doesn't return to form, I expect Green to split carries with Justice Hayes, who has never been a starter before, and has actually barely seen the field with the exception of garbage time.
_______________________________
Schedule:
Central Michigan - w Notre Dame - Tossup, leaning towards L for right now. This could change depending on the interior OL, but I'm predicting inexperience plays a role here. Akron - W @uconn - W Minnesota - W @penn St - Toss up, leaning towards a W. I think lack of depth hurts PSU in the end. Indiana - W @mich St - W Nebraska - W @nw - Tossup, leaning towards W but it will be close. @iowa - W Ohio St - Tossup, leaning towards W. We only lost by 5 last year with an inexperienced QB, he should do a lot better this time around.
Given the weak schedule, our best outcome is undefeated. We'd probably get smacked in the title game like last years, but we can make it there if we catch a few breaks.
Worst outcome is 4 losses IMO. ND, PSU, NW, and OSU could give us trouble.
Ceiling: 12-0 Floor: 8-4

I think they could go undefeated too, with 8-4 as the worst case scenario too

Tennessee: Austin Peay W Western Kentucky W @ Oregon L @ Florida L South Alabama W Georgia L South Carolina W @ Alabama L @ Missouri W Auburn W Vanderbilt W @ Kentucky W Bowl Loss 8-5, Top 10 Recruiting Class (around the 6-9 range) Best case scenario: 8-5 Worst Case: 6-7 (Losses vs SCAR and Vandy + Bowl loss) Offensive Analysis: This offense could be extremely good or extremely bad after losing 4 extremely key players. It all revolves around the QB competition between Worley (JR.; Gatorade Player of the Year in HS), Peterman (RS FR.; Dual threat), Dobbs (FR; Dual threat). Worley had been the favored starter but has not yet emerged into that form. Peterman has not panned out yet as well so Josh Dobbs is covering ground quickly. The offense is also in need of a go-to WR. RS FR Jason Croom (Megatron clone) has really shown up in spring along with SOPH Alton "Pig" Howard. FR Marquez North (no. 2 WR in the country) is also batting for solid playing time. Our OL is the best in the SEC by far and Sr RB Rajion Neal has steadily improved in his career as a good combo of size and speed but has always lacked balance and breakaway ability. JR Marlin Lane emerged last year as the more consistent back, but lacks SEC speed, turning into more of a goal line, short-yardage back. This man is an absolute bulldozer. Our running game should be fine. Defensive Analysis: The worst defense in history of UT football will not be seen on the field this year. The main reason for this is that they dumped that dipshit DC Sal Sunseri who couldn't teach his kids how to tackle. This defense is absolutely loaded with talent but just needs to really come into form. Our massive DL has the potential to become one of the best in the SEC. Our LB core will be extremely solid with All-American JR LB AJ Johnson in the middle with All-american potential OLB Kurt Maggitt coming off ACL surgery. The other OLB happens to be voted the biggest spring emerger in the country Dontavis Sapp. CB is where we have the most questions. JR Justin Coleman who has been solid but inconsistent in his career is the unquestioned starter on one side. The mostly unquestioned starter in the slot was Eric Gordon (the guy known as the one that destroyed Lattimore's knee last year) has left the team for personal reasons but is still on campus. His status is up in the air. This leaves JUCO CB Rihyahd Jones to fill the other outside spot. The slot is highly questionable without Eric Gordon. It has turned into a battle between Walkon track star from maryland Michael Williams and 3 or so FR. Safety is extremely good for us. Brian Randolph was in all-american form last year until he tore his ACL in game 3 or 4. The other guy is Byron Moore who had 5 INTs last season but needs to work on his tackling and instincts. If one of them goes down, we have Eric Berryesque SOPH LaDarrell Mcneill. Special teams: Shit with potential. Overall: This Tennessee team will rely heavily on its unproven D unless its question filled offense steps up. This season could either turn out extremely well considering the circumstances or we could be around the same as last year. GO VOLS!

not gonna go in depth on cincinnati and ohio state here, just gonna guess on records
cincinnati schedule isnt exactly tough, but the team isnt stacked either. i could honestly see as good as 11-1 though, no worse than 6-6 though. if they SOMEHOW beat louisville, they have a chance to go to a BCS and get slaughtered
ohio state's season looks much more promising. i see them going 12-0 or 11-1. they have to go undefeated if they want to go the BCS title game. either way, playing in the rosebowl or any other BCS bowl game looks good still, if they dont blow any games

OSU fans should expect nothing less than a 7-0 start. Eastern Washington might be potent, but it’s Eastern Washington. Hawaii is still trying to figure out what it’s doing, and road trips to Utah and San Diego State have to be wins if the team is planning on taking any sort of a step forward. With Colorado at home and a week off to get ready for road trips to Washington State and Cal, that means six of the first seven games are against teams that didn’t go bowling last year. Getting at least a split of home games against Stanford and USC will be vital to have any hope of staying in the Pac-12 North chase. There isn’t a true break over the final six weeks, but there’s a wonderfully placed bye week in early November to get ready for a trip to Arizona State followed up by Washington and the Civil War regular season finale at Oregon. Team Concerns For 2013: After a surprising year, Mike Riley has to do a little tweaking in what should be a strange and interesting season for the Pac-12 North. The Beavers need to be better up front after struggling in pass protection and not doing enough for a ground game that averaged just 124 yards per game. The defensive front could stand to be a wee bit stronger now that tackles Castro Masaniai and Andrew Seumalo are gone, but the run D should be fine. The kickoff return game was the worst in the Pac-12 averaging 18.34 yards per try. The 2013 Class Is Heavy On ... Defensive linemen. The Beavers are coming up with their share of good receivers in a strength-in-numbers class, and quarterback Kyle Kempt out of Ohio was a good get, but the key to the class is the haul for the defensive front. Mike Riley is getting four JUCO defensive tackles who all go around 300 pounds and can all step in and be a part of the equation right away. Edwin Delva, Kyle Peko, Lyndon Tulimasealii and Siale Hautau are all instant players. Best case: 10-1...Really think this is possible, our only loss would come from Stanford or that horrible team 45 miles south of us. Worst case: Shit were coached by Mike Reilly and a product of his horrible recruiting, 3-8. Only 11 games this season
