Why are the Chargers not taking a LT? Whoops. Kouandjio and Roby are switched. Much better. The idea of taking an Alabama Crimson Tide OT in the first round, two years in a row fascinates me.

D'Anthony Thomas is a poor mans Shane Vereen. His only value would be return game and we already have 2 of the best returners in the league. Good player, but probably not first round talent, and would be behind multiple players who will be under contract next year.

They may have "similar" roles in an Offense, but Thomas is EONS more electrifying than Vereen is. The speed of the two isn't even comparable (Vereen's 4.5 to Thomas' likely sub 4.3). That kind of weapon is something Tom Brady could REALLY take advantage of, especially being devoid of playmakers as of late, with Welker going to Brady's "archenemy" and Hernandez likely out of the NFL for good. Thomas could fill Hernandez's old role to a degree as a "Joker" in the Pats Offense.

And 40 times dont prove anything, the NFL isnt a fastest man competition. It doesnt sound like you have seen much of Vereen. And cmon Thomas couldnt even get close to filling Hernandez's role. Hernandez played receiver 65 percent of his snaps, he has the 6 3 250 pound frame, Thomas isnt even close. Vereen has the size to last in the nfl, Thomas doesnt. Its that simple.

Vereen has the size to last in the nfl, Thomas doesnt. Its that simple. Wes Welker is 5'9" 185 lbs. He lasted well enough. The NFL isn't a biggest man competition either. Thomas is 5'9" 181 lbs. 4 lbs less than Welker is (or was when he came out of College). Also for the record, Dexter McCluster has only ever played with Matt freaking Cassell as his QB.

Every where I look have him currently listed between 165 and 175. Welker is much tougher than Thomas, I dont think their is any question about that. As for Mccluster playing with Cassel, thats a fair point however his numbers should still be higher. Welker also got his chance to play with Cassell, and his numbers barley fell. At the end of the day will have our 3 rookie recievers under contract for the next 4 years, our 2 main running backs for the next 3 years, our 2 Best TE's under roster for at least 3 more years, not to mention Amendola under contract for 5 more years. Their would be no justifying drafting another offensive weapon in the 1st round unless it was for some incredible player, which Thomas is not.

Being a hater of Thomas makes me side with Kid here, but Thomas is great in space. Just don't see him as a first rounder. Too much risk there because of his small stature.
Also...where the hell is Scott Crichton?

CBSSports gave him a 3rd Round Grade. That's why I missed him. I was only looking at their 1st Round Picks for a reference.
