Pugh was a reach. It bugged me that they went with a defensive tackle on round two when Sharrif Floyd was available for them, to get a player they could get on round two.
By drafting Hankins, I see that they don't seem to be confortable by giving the starting job to Marvin Austin that easy. Still a good pick.
I would be shocked if they didn't draft Moore. They like drafting defensive linemen, and after Umenyiora left, they needed a rotational DE. Solid pick.
I liked the Nassib pick. What I didn't like was that they traded up. Manning is the current leading QB in consecutive starts in the regular season,so that left me hanging.
Grade B

A-
I had to vote B, but I would have voted A- if it were there. Pugh is a reach in the first round, but Moore and Hankins were great picks, and I also really like Ryan Nassib. So this is a good draft for the Giants, but it could have been a home run.

To me the draft is about filling the weakness in your team with the best players that fit the scheme in which you play. Reese opted to turn away from floyd and i trust it was for a good reason.
Justin Pugh, OT, Syracuse Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State Damontre Moore, DE, Texas A&M Ryan Nassib, QB, Syracuse Cooper Taylor, S, Richmond Eric Herman, OG, Ohio Michael Cox, RB, UMass
First thing ill say is that In a thread in nFL.com a month or two ago I said that buffalo should take nassib over Geno. I dont think the giants will ever play em but under Eli this guy will be molded into a really good QB.
Taking cox is the only one i didnt really like here. He doesnt impress me all to much. Again he will probably never play on the giants.
to the meat.
The Giants had two huge problems last year. running the ball and defending the run. If this were my team id be looking to improve on those very two things. Reese has always been great at drafting talented players that play right now.
Justin Pugh- after the huge run on lineman the giants had to take Pugh. Best available for their scheme at the 19th pick. I watch syracuse (probably why i like nassib) and pugh is awesome. Hes not gonna overpower big guys but he is gonna block them and make holes for wilson. As a pass protector he is good but for the run game he is very good. In addition he plays every position on the front line. great pick
Eric Herman-To get him at 7th round is very good. Hes a tough kid that can do everything and is a player ive never seen play or even know so im just talkin shit. Hes a guard and we need guards.
Cooper Taylor- 6 foot 4 inches runs a 4.4 40 yard dash and he can catch. WTF?
Johnathan Hankins is a real good DT. He will be starting by week three. watch the tape on this guy he is a great run stopper. He wont be a dominate force in the pass rush...or maybe he will being single covered all the time. Most tape i seen he was doubled.
Damontre Moore-great pass rusher and can play MLB and will be used in blitz packages. Could be a starter early as well with the loss of blackburn.
To me what the giants did was fill all their holes with the F/A and draft. I could not be happier

I agree with Pugh. He is a plug and play guy, and will be solid for us for many years.
Was eh on the Hankins pick at first due to our plethora of DTs already, but after watching tape of him, he is something we need. The dude penetrates the line constantly, and draws double teams. He will help JPP a lot due to his presence. You are saying Moore can play ILB? If so, not sure where you got that idea from. He is gonna play DE for us, and even saying some time at OLB is a big stretch. Cooper Taylor is the JPP of Safeties LOL.
Herman is a nice selection. We have a lot of young OL now: Pugh, Herman, Mosley, McCants, Brewer. I really would have liked Barrett Jones in the 4th due to his versatility. I wanted Greene REALLY bad, however. Mad we passed him up 3 times (2nd, 3rd, 4th). I am ALL for Nassib, the kid is a stud, just do not know WHY we traded up to get him, and lose a selection in the 6th. I am behind the pick, though.

your right plax, DaMonster Moore plays OLB when not at the DE position. I thought he played ILB and OLB, which i why i said middle linebacker. Either way he is awesome. So who we gonna have at ILB this year? We gonna trust conner?

Connor/Herzlich/Rivers
Iffy on it, but our LBs do not matter much. We strive off of amazing DL play which helps everyone else out.
