@ the Original Post (Would have put OP, but I dont want to direct this at dive because its not to her) But really at this point I can careless what happens in this circus. Goodell will fight it, the saints will appeal again Going into next season they will take it further and file an injunction against goodell trying to get him out, it wont work. Goodell wont lose his job, the Saints players wont lose any real time.
I'm even starting to think its just on big P/R campaign. At this point they are beating a dead horse, and it really doesnt add anything now to keep it in the public eye. The Saints are this century's Raiders, they will be branded and indexed under cheaters / thugs. Al ran with the title and made it a staple of the team (being thugs not cheaters) I wonder if Benson will do the same?
I expect a little N'awleans voodoo now. The team will be playing with a chip on their shoulders and with the 2 players back (4 in total but I dont see the browns or packers benefiting) the D will be on fire, Brees is validated, and the younger players will respond.

I will remind everyone, I am against the bounties, and I do despise the act of being paid to hurt someone, its a violent enough game without having to try and kill your opponent. Yes i'm a raiders fan saying that. But like i said i'm tired of the circus. If they did it or not now is unimportant because that's not the story anymore. The bounties have been forgotten and now its Goodell vs the Saints.

JMO...The Saints are known for their offense, not defense. Defense is at best, average, even with Vilma. This wont make a difference. You sound like a Panthers fan with this and all the Cam MVP talk Lol, I agree our D is average at best atm though. I think your D actually took a huge upgrade at LB this year! I would take Lofton over Vilma any day of the week! And David Hawthorne is an upgrade over anything else you have had in a while! I wonder how your linebackers will work with Vilma back in the picture.. Lots of talent on Saints D, I just wonder if they can pull it together get a pass rush and create some turnovers.

I think the Saitns run D will be very good this year... Pass D will take a step back and not too many TOs.

As happens in the news, where issues are ousted in favor of bigger news, I don't think they should be forgotten. Just cuz it ain't the story anymore? Noooo....it should not become 1 iota less important. It's like saying someone new making a new bonehead move should let you off the hook?!?

I think it all depends on if Patrick Robinson steps up or not. He's been good for us playing nickel corner but he's a boundary corner now and that's pretty different.

No I agree with you, but the media's focus and stuff has shifted, and instead of placing the emphasis on the bounties its been about the players fighting goodell and goodell going against them. That part of the story is what has taken over. I agree that it needs to be only about the bounties. But its not anymore. If there is proof Goodell had plent of time to put it out there and put the final nail in the coffin. Which he didnt. Does that mean there is none? No. Greg Williams admission is enough to prove there were. It's just this has dragged out so far now that I think its a P/R thing to keep the attention on the NFL. Negative press is still press, your name is still in the paper. Now that his ruling has been over turned Goodell will need to put out every bit of evidence that he has, which he should have in the first place, but again, publicity. This all could have ended months ago if he would have put up or shut up. But instead its been him vs the players, him vs the saints. The Bounty ruling should have been made and everything placed on the table then and there, not with holding information. I know part of it was an anonymous source that later backed out, but what he said is still there and could be brought forward without incriminating the person. But like I've said all of that has been forgotten right now and it's not the emphasis of the story anymore, and hasnt been since vilma started his appeals.

Little bit, but mainly think run D improves and requires more passing attempts by the other team, resulting in worse overall pass defense

Losing Porter is one problem, the other is what sort of pass rush can your team really get on opposing QBs? Most times CBs are only as good as their pass rush dictates.
