The New York Giants released starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw on Wednesday, a source with knowledge of the Giants' moves told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. The team also released defensive end Chris Canty, a source who has spoken with the player told NFL.com's Albert Breer. The move was somewhat expected since Bradshaw had seen his playing time cut in 2012 to fellow running backs David Wilson and Andre Brown. The source told Rapoport that Bradshaw is expected to be ready for offseason workouts after having surgery on his foot last month. Bradshaw rushed for 4,232 yards and 32 touchdowns in six seasons with the Giants. Canty recorded 20 tackles and three sacks in 2012 as the Giants failed to make the playoffs one season after winning the franchise's fourth Super Bowl title. Bradshaw and Canty's exits come one day after the Giants released veteran linebacker Michael Boley. www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000136804/article/ahmad-bradshaw-chris-canty-released-by-new-york-giants

Bradshaw was a decent RB, but I was not totally sold on him. The minute I saw Andre Brown doing what he did this season, I knew Bradshaw's future with Big Blue was in jeopardy.

Between Brown, and Wilson Bradshaw won't be missed that much IMO.

Between Brown, and Wilson Bradshaw won't be missed that much IMO. If they both stay healthy, I completely agree with you. Still don't trust Andre Brown from a health standpoint since he has always had some sort of injury hold him back every year it seems.

I like what Brown did, and fully expect him to be the #1 going forward, with Wilson coming up. I have always been high on Wilson, just seemed to let the big game get to him, once he calms down he should be splitting time more evenly.

surprised at some of the players the giants are letting go. at this rate, i think they are gonna have a difficult time making the playoffs next year. it could be down to the redskins and cowboys this time
