Elway is a prick, I didn't want Peyton Manning to be with that bastard after what Manning represented to the Colts' franchise and after what Elway has represented to the Colts' franchise

Packers fans didn't want to see Favre in purple.

John didn't do anything to the Colts. There was never an issue with the team itself, the fans, the city, etc. It was more about the coach that they had at the time, because Jack Elway (John's dad) knew him and knew how he was, which was a jacka$$. Frank Kush. He wasn't a very good pro coach for one, and he was known as abusive to people for two. Maybe that's why he wasn't in the league for long. He was never able to replicate his collegiate coaching success in the NFL because he was dealing with MEN and PROFESSIONALS, not college KIDS.
He also wasn't crazy about the ownership and he was proven RIGHT the next year or so when they REPAID all the loyalty the city of Baltimore and the fans had given them by leaving in the dead of night for Indianapolis. That wasn't John Elway's fault. That's the Colts organization, or at that point LACK thereof that pulled that stunt. There's a reason they weren't all that successful for an extended period.
