The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference East division. After going 13-3 against one of the easier NFL schedules in 2016, the Dallas Cowboys were rewarded for their efforts with one of the toughest in 2017 NFC East reign. However, that doesn’t change much in regards to my overall prediction.
I predicted a 10-6 season in 2016. I’m predicting that again.
One major difference is I had the Cowboys winning the division last year. This season, I predict they’ll finish second to the New York Giants but earn a wild-card spot NFC East reign.
After seeing what the Dallas Cowboys Schedule did in the draft and in organized team activities, minicamp, training camp and the preseason, here’s my game-by-game forecast for 2017. With the uncertainty surrounding Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game suspension and appeal, these projections are based on Elliott being eligible for all 16 games NFC East reign.
Week 1 vs. New York Giants: 7:30 p.m. Sun., Sept. 10 (Ch. 5)
Prediction: WIN (1-0)
Win or lose, this game clearly doesn’t make the season. The Cowboys beat the Giants in the season opener two years ago but won only three more times that season. NFC East reign Dallas lost to New York to open the season last year and ended up with 13 wins. After not having much success against the Giants during his rookie season, Dak Prescott shows how much he has improved this offseason with a player-of-the-game type performance.
