Pats were in the mix for Marvin Jones before he signed with the Lions. Have shown heavy interest in Sanu and Matthews.
The tricky thing when signing a receiver, is that I am not sure they can justify giving any of these guys more money than Edelman who has a very low 4 year 17 million dollar deal. So 4 million per year might be the max they are willing to pay any of these guys, which could be restrictive. They could always opt for giving Edelman a raise(unlikely) or an extension that has more money in it(possible).
Pats signed soon to be free agent T LaAdrian Waddle to a two year deal two, worth 2 million.

And as I post that it looks like Sanu is headed to Atlanta at a deal worth over 7 million a year.
I liked both Jones and Sanu, but would never have paid them that type of money.

Steelers signing TE Ladarius Green I am interested to see what type of money he got. A lot of potential, but he has never had a chance to prove it. I pretty much ruled out New England being competitive for a number two TE after Dwayne Allen got 7.5 million per year.

Pats are out of the Powell sweepstakes. Broncos are interested.

I pretty much ruled out New England being competitive for a number two TE after Dwayne Allen got 7.5 million per year. The Dwayne Allen contract was absolutely ridiculous. Especially after having only SIXTEEN total catches in 13 games last year. One of the worst contracts I have ever seen. With the Steelers and their Cap situation, I expect the Green deal to be about $3-4 Million a year.

To put that contract in perspective, Gronk will make less than Allen over the next 4 years, and Gronk's 2015 stats are very similar to Allen's 4 year career stats. I expected the market for TE's would be about 4 million per year, but my bet is he got a little bit more than that considering what Allen got and that Ben Watson got 4 million a year and he is 35.
