I bashed their selection of Pazingis, or however you spell his name in last summers draft, by the kid looked good out there from the highlights j just saw. Plus we got one of the Lopez brothers!!! Yes! Don't look now, but the Knicks might be pretty scrappy this season. Now if we can just keep our head coach from fighting his gf ex husband...

The Knicks won't win more than 35 games this season. Lopez is a nice piece, but he's basically Tyson Chandler with a better jump shot. Porzingis may look good in preseason, but he's going to be overmatched by most big men in the NBA. He's a developmental piece, which isn't as bad as everyone things since he has a lot of room for improvement in terms of skill. Afflalo was another nice addition, but he's not a player who can flip the season around for them. Melo is one of the best offensive players in the game (I think only Curry and Durant are better than him), but the two questions everyone asks about him are 1.) Will he look to pass the ball more? And 2.) Will he step up his defense?
Overall, I think this team will be much better than last season, but I don't think they'll make the playoffs. Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, Toronto and Washington are locks. The Bucks will take another step forward this season, and I think the Hawks will make it again. They may not be the number 1 seed like last year, but they won't have a problem making it in the East. From there, I think Detroit, Indiana, Brooklyn, Boston and Charlotte have better chances to make it than the Knicks. I don't see Derek taking these Knicks to the promise land. I'm sorry.

We'll see what happens. I think this team is ready to take a big step. I don't know if they'll make the playoffs, but they're capable. I definitely don't think the bobcats are better. No teams a lock until they've secured a playoff spot. Every season is different. I'm excited about Knicks basketball.
