Having watched the Rams - Redskins game I have to say that it was the worst officiating I have seen in the NFL in the 30 years that I have been watching. The officials all but lost control of the game.

The officials all but lost control of the game. No doubt about it. I seriously counted more than 15 fights in that game. (I'm not going to lie, I was laughing my ass off later in the game seeing everyone pushing and shoving and getting in each others face, and then Mulligan literally throwing a redskin on the ground and full-mounting him.. Then getting up and going after the other redskin.) At the beginning of the game I was pretty ticked though. Steven Jackson lost a clear touchdown, and then was penalized for spiking the ball in the endzone (Which is actually not a penalty). On the opening Redskins drive there were 3-4 bad calls. (And wtf is with the benching of Jackson for spiking the ball? He's not a rookie that he needs to learn a lesson. I really disaprove of that decision of Jeff Fisher.) I would say this game was so terrible there were around 20-30 things that they missed or calls that they made were bad. It was literally horrible. This game was very aggressive. If you noticed RG3 was bleeding all over his elbow back and legs. We hit them hard. I like our aggressive style.

There was no injury to Jackson. The officials called a play short of the endzone and made it 4th down. They were probably wrong but the replay probably wouldn't have been conclusive in the Rams favour. Jackson knew what the officials decision was but spiked the ball anyway. Throwing the ball away was rightly called as a penalty, (although I believe the wrong penalty was called - 15 yards instead of 5). Jackson was benched for disciplinary reasons. I agreed with Fisher's decision. Players need to be accountable.

I've seen the stories but they don't square with Jackson playing with injuries in the past, (see week 1 last year). Nor was he treated for an injury on the sideline. Nor did he do gentle exercises on the bike to keep the groin loose. If he misses practice time and is listed as a doubt next weekend then i'll believe it. Until then i'll be sceptical of such reports. No offence is intended. There are plenty of other players who i'd believe were injured.

We knocked out Orakpo and Kerrigan for the season. I remember the orakpo injury happened when Rodger Saffold was running from the fumble recovery and he tried to tackle him. Saffold AND Orakpo got injured. I know this sounds bad, but this is actually good for the Rams that two important key pieces to the Redskins are out. It means a higher draft pick for us.

I can see your point but I don't want to see players getting injured. I don't really care about where teams are going to pick in the Draft. If the Redskins pick ends up at #9 rather than #19 will it really make the Rams better? Probably not given the Rams strategy. Fisher said that he would have taken Brockers at #6. Worryingly I believe him. I'd rather see teams close to their maximum potential. Watching games is far more entertaining than strategizing for the Draft.

Watching Monday Night Football at the moment, and I am sickened. These guys are supposed to be the best these replacements have. This guys are so darn terrible. They are holding up the game, they cannot control the game, and the "guy upstairs" has had to repeatedly correct these guys. This has got to be the worst show of officiating I have seen.
