He easily could have been, it was a very strong WR draft. But I can see him being better than a number of receivers drafted before him. No doubt, but if people did laugh at you for calling him a first rounder, they were right, strictly speaking. How good he is (again, no contest, he's great) isn't necessarily relevant to where he gets drafted. If you were just talking about the draft, bringing up Allen isn't a good example of your knowledge of Penn State guys, since you were technically wrong. Now, it is valid to say you knew he'd do well in the NFL. That counts for something. But the draft stock thing doesn't really make sense. I was laughed at for calling Dupree a first rounder like 2-3 years ago.

Maybe saying he was going to be drafted in the 1st round might have been pushing it seeing as some teams just draft a certain way. But he does have 1st round talent. Absolutely. After this year, I don't think anyone debates Robinson should have been a first round pick. Players who went ahead of him who shouldn't have in round 1: Clowney Robinson Watkins Matthews Evans Gilbert Ebron Fuller Pryor James Cooks... maybe? I actually think Cooks is the better talent. Clinton-Dix Manziel Ford Dennard Smith Bucannon Benjamin Easley Ward Roby So, most of the first round would probably take Robinson over the guy they got. Basically just the slam-dunk picks look better. And quite a few are about the same but don't look as sexy since Robinson is a productive receiver.

He has looked encouraging though.

I thought I gave him to the Rams Another running back for the Lions? Abdullah is good, but he isn't a bell cow. They need someone that can take over games now that Megatron is gone.
