I guess I convinced you? ;P I wouldn't mind it. I was against the idea at first, but I am not against the idea of building on a strength. Kinda like what the Lions did when they drafted Nick Fairly when they already had Ndamukung Suh. Jarran Reed might also be BPA at that point in the Draft.

It'd be awesome to get Bell in the second. But boy they don't need another ILB. Shazier is a stud, Timmons still got a few years on him and from top to bottom they have talented depth. Williams could start and Garvin could be the main back up without too much of a drop in talent. I wouldn't mind if the Steelers moved Jones to ILB either

I wouldn't mind if the Steelers moved Jones to ILB either All decent options, but Jaylon Smith is special. If he falls to them in the 1st, they should run up to the podium. Lawrence Timmons might be a cap casualty, but he could also be extended, giving time for Smith to get healthy while also learning behind him. No, I don't think Williams is an every down Linebacker. He is a quality backup, but doesn't have the skill set to stay in on Passing downs. I also don't have as much faith in Garvin as you do (seeing as Sean Spence has probably priced his way out of Pittsburgh). Jaylon Smith has the potential to be an All Pro Linebacker. If he didn't tear his ACL (among other ligaments) towards the end of the season, he would be a Top 5-10 pick in this Draft. The Steelers are one of the few teams that have the luxury of taking him in the first round and letting him get healthy before starting him.

The Steelers are one of the few teams that have the luxury of taking him in the first round and letting him get healthy before starting him. William's coverage has improved, sure he's not the athlete the rest of them are but he has mentally gotten better ring coverage which helps and I'd say he's probably our best ILB against the run, the guy is also a leader if he gets put in position to be one. Garvin would make a quality nickle Lb with he speed and length and he's been in the system a while, but he's never been given a shot with them drafting Shazier and Spence getting healthy. He was getting decent reps when Spence was recovering from his knee injury. ILB is just one of those positions that isn't a major issue, especially since they got a stud in Shazier, and quality LBs behind him. Especially if they go and get someone like Cravens, the need for an ILB goes down more, especially if they opt to put more DBs on the field. I really don't know a thing about this guy, so you might be right. Not sure I like they idea of drafting someone coming off a major injury. Typically those guys always fall to the 2ND round or later.

cityofchamps , did you not see that Philly resigned Bradford...or you just being fecicious? Please don't give me the "they like him because they interviewed him at the combine." Or the "they need to groom him under Bradford." 1st Rd qbs are expected to start right away, Philadelphia may take a QB in the later rounds, but not the first...cmon hackenburg in the 4th!!
