Pats place WR Brandon Gibson on IR, release FB Eric Kettani. Sign WR Reggie Wayne and LB D.J. Lynch.
Bad news for Gibson as he looked like a pretty good 4th or 5th option. Would have contributed for sure.
I believe there is one open roster spot.
CB Daryl Richards has a very serious wrist injury that could be season ending. He has had a good camp and looked good in preseason, so I find it unlikely he will be placed on IR until after week one, as he would be subject to waivers. Brian Tyms is also dealing with a potential season ending injury and I think that situation will be handled the same way as Richards.
Aaron Dobson has apparently been ready to go the last two weeks, but the Patriots have been extra cautious with him and held him out. I view that as a sign that he will make the team, as there is no way they would hold him out if they needed to see more of him.

Dominique Easley looked really good against New Orleans. He flashed a lot of power moves. This secondary isnt going to as good as last year, but the front 7 is going to be so much better and that should easily make up for it.

NFL's most recent filing(without properly seeking leave to respond) appears to be a violation of SDNY Local Rule prohibiting unauthorized filings. The proper procedure here would have been for the NFL to file a motion seeking leave to respond, and then attaching the letter as an exhibit. In fact they did "ask" for permission to file, and then proceeded to do it anyways pbs.twimg.com/media/CNNIYc6UcAAGpHf.jpgThe NFL not making Jeff Pash available for questioning by Kessler and the NFL PA's appears to be the most likely winning scenario for Brady(although there are several).

And Tyms has been waived injured, will revert to IR if unclaimed. He showed a lot of promises last year during the preseason and looked like he had the ability to stretch the field during limited regular season action. Looked good in camp this year too.

Wayne's contract includes a 500,000 dollar signing bonus and is worth up to 3 million.
At the very least that says he is not competing for a spot on the roster.

Ryan Wendell off of PUP. While I view Tre Jackson and Shaq Mason as two really good long term starters at guard, I think it would be a mistake to have both of them on the field at the same time week one.

Dobson, Cadett, Edelman, and Chandler also returned to the practice field today.
This offense(which was very good last year) is going to be a lot better this year. No there isnt one big name addition, but the the offensive line made big(and long term) improvements, and the receiving core made two nice additions with Reggie Wayne and Scott Chandler.
