Gronk didn't receive any knee injections like ESPN claims, was simply treatment that had to be done at a hospital.

Gronk's back was added to the injury report. Maybe Bill is just messing with everyone.

Gronk is dealing with significant knee pain. Didn't receive any injections like some claim and his game status is not in any doubt. Still it is very clear he will not be close to 100 percent, and it will certainly impact his ability. My expectation is he will be limited to about 70 percent of his usual snaps, will be used a lot as a blocker, and will not run many routes over the middle of the field.
As for Edelman, I expect him to be a full go with no limitations at all. I don't really buy into the rust argument when it comes to injured players. A lot of guys skip the entire preseason, so they are going into week one with 9 months without playing in a football game. Gronk is one example of this and he did score 3 TD's in the opener.

A few things to note:
This Chiefs team will be the 3rd playoff team Belichick's Patriots have faced in the postseason with a 10 or more game winning streak. Pats defeated the previous two teams: 2006 Chargers(10 straight) and 2004 Steelers(15 straight).
KC has lost 5 straight road games to the Pats. Last win in New England was in 1990.
Pats can tie the 73-77 Raiders team with 5 consecutive conference championship appearances with a win.
Couple of things that really stood out to me in last years game, was how bad Revis and Jones were in that matchup. Revis got beat multiple times by Dwayne Bowe, Chandler Jones not only couldn't generate consistent pressure, but was just awful against the run. Not sure about Revis, but that was probably Jones worst game in his career.
Pats played a lot of 4-3 looks in last years match up with Hightower, Mayo, and Collins. They basically eliminated the 4-3 defense all together a couple of weeks after that game and have not returned to it since. They really struggled defending the screen game in the last matchup, because the LB's couldn't get there fast enough.

Keshawn Martin signed a 2 year extension today worth about 3 million. He has developed into a Jabaar Gaffney type role and will have a chance to play a bigger role next season.
Edelman looked really good in pregame warm ups. Really sounds like there will be no limitations from Edelman. The belief is he was ready to go week 16, could have played week 15 if it was a playoff game.
I am actually more interested to see how Amendola looks with his knee injury. Clearly wasn't 100 percent against Miami and the Pats limited his usage to routes that avoided contact.
I am curious to see how well Hightower looks. Very clear he shouldn't have been playing against Miami, looked terrible. He is dealing with a knee sprain which is typically a 2-3 week thing, so in theory he should have had enough time to recover.
Sebastian Vollmer is also a real question going into this game. The indication is that he will play, but his effectiveness will likely be limited due to the ankle injury.
Nate Ebner was seen warming up with a cast on his hand. My expectation is he will play through the pain. He is one of the best special teams player in the league and his role shouldn't be effective much by the broken hand.
Justin Coleman did not have a cast on his wrist during warmups. Sounds like the wrist is back to normal, question is the concussion which was apparently a fairly severe one. He has had 3 weeks to recover, so my expectation is he is a go. Coleman has been a pretty solid nickel CB this year. I don't expect the nickel packages will consist of a 3rd CB today, so his snaps will be limited regardless.
The Pats were pleased with the way Jones handled himself this week and any discipline imposed by the team is expected to be minimal, maybe he misses the first series. Jones apparently had his best week of practice ever. Not sure about the practice assessment, but I can't disagree with the way he handled the aftermath. Was obviously a very dumb thing for Jones to do, but was the first time Jones has been in any type of off the field situation, and it was purely stupid, not criminal.
Look for James White to have a big day catching the football. I think the Chiefs will limit Gronk with bracket coverage, which should open things up for White.
Looked like Maclin had no trouble walking in a video of him walking into the stadium. I bet he plays, but the question is more about how well he can cut.
Sounds like Justin Houston will be good to go. Will be interesting to see how effective he is. Seemed pretty clear he wasn't close to 100 percent last week.
Mike Kensil checked out of his local area hotel yesterday. Apparently he has actually been banned from ever entering Gillette stadium, just have to wonder if he had enough time to plant any evidence.

Jones expected to start today. Whatever discipline has already happened.
Maclin not seen warming up with the rest of his receivers. Inactives due in about 10 minutes.
