Colts have just signed OT Ben Heenan and WR Duron Carter. Both ex CFL players. Carter is the son of Chris Carter and has played for the Montreal Alouettes the past 2 seasons and has looked great doing so. Has all the skills of a #1 WR only reason he was in the CFL was character concerns. Heenan played RT the past 3 seasons with the Roughriders, he was a home town boy and a rare player who came into the league as a true rookie and played great. He has been a consistent force on the O-line for us and is great in run blocking. In the NFL he would likely move into guard. I am ridiculously sad he is gone, as we have had an all-star O-line the past two seasons with him in there, and now we have to find his replacement Why you take all of our good players? First Chick, Then Freeman, now Heenan! You suck colts !

But they never took Chick He went to the Colts first, was on their practice roster for a year, but that was back when you have Freeney, Mathis, and Hughes so he didn't quite make the cut. The Jags picked him up after, where he played pretty good until he got injured.

I like the WR the Chargers got from the CFL. Inman I think his name is. He did good when needed.

The Steelers also signed Shawn Lemon from the Calgary Stampeders a while back. We also worked out CB Delvin Breaux of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last month who ended up signing with the Saints.

We have hockey back in San Diego this year. There was a cartoon in my local paper the other day. It showed a hockey guy with a stick, a puck, and a goal. It said. This is hockey San Diego. haha It had an arrow pointing to the stick that said "Stick", an arrow pointing to the puck that said "Puck" and an arrow pointing to the goal that said "Goal". It made me laugh.

Every time one of our younger players has an all star season he ends up down in the NFL and we have to replace an all-star. You can imagine how frustrating it is! Its good for the players just frustrating for the fans. With hockey its a little different cause all but 7 teams are in the states. However with Junior most of the best young players from America try to get into the CHL cause it gets them the most exposer to scouts and its the best competition by a very long shot for junior hockey. There are still some American teams in the CHL though, like Portland, Seattle and Tri-City.

They have their followings, sure, but everyone knows that each and every one of those players' highest goal first and foremost is to get into the NFL.

cityofchamps Yea.. Sadly its becoming more and more like that lately. The quality of the CFL has been getting better and better as its gotten more popular and now we have a lot of good players and the NFL has realized this and started scouting our league more and more.. And Shawn Lemon is an ex roughrider too. Wasn't great, really surprised to see him get a shot at the NFL.
