The top LB in the entire league over the last three weeks (and a fellow UW-Madison alumni ). Although he was a BEAST for the Badgers (20+ tackles every game)-- he fell to the 3rd round in the draft because teams thought he was too undersized and just a run-stuffer (Hello! They said the same thing about too-short Russell Wilson and how did that turn out? ) I think the rush to put Willis on IR for the season had a lot to do with Borland's excellent play during his absence. And he didn't disappoint as the "official" fulltime starter this weekend-- 9 solo tackles, 4 assists, 3 passes defended, and 2 INTs. Welcome to the NFL, Mr. B.

The question is, who rides the pine next year? Bowman, Willis or Borland?

or Wilhoite? Injuries will play a part in deciding that. However, if SF knows what's good for the team, they'll find a way to play ALL their best players ala GB moving Clay Matthews to ILB.

So play one of them at OLB so Aaron Lynch or Aldon Smith goes to the bench? Or do you suggest playing one of the ILBs at SS?

Patrick Willis ran a faster 40 time than Eric Reid, so he should easily be able to play safety
