So I guess not being so arrogant to say America is the best country in the world with nothing to back that statement up is bashing my country. Well that's good to know. I don't understand what you are saying here. You said "you all can bash my country all you want but I won't." I assumed I was part of "you all".

Well if I got life threatening sick here I wouldn't have the money nor insurance to pay the 100 grand it's gonna cost me for a chance to get better If I get a simple cold like sick I think most countries could do the job just fine. Is America the best place for treating me if I'm sick? I would suppose so but I'm pretty sure plenty other countries have good medical care as well. But our medical care doesn't make us the best country in the world. If you got a simple cold, there is no cure. Just gut it out. But if you got a life threatening sick, and don't have money or insurance, you go to the emergency room. Its the law they have to take care of you and they will. Name me another country that does that. It's a fact. You must be taken care of. It's the law. Im guessing the bill wont be pretty though. You act like not rejecting patients is something only America does but i never heard of canada or european countries rejecting patients

I don't understand what you are saying here. The video bashed it. I think. I haven't watched it for a long time. I think other countries may be better than us in some areas. But if I need help, I'll take the US. So its six of one half dozen of another. No doubt the US has made major mistakes in world politics. But without us what would the world look like? I don't know, might be better. But I don't think so. I think Africa would be baron due to disease. Or africa will be filled with super humans due to all the Darwinism

Note that the states doesn't actually have it yet but is working on it. I'm getting tired and I didn't read this yet. And I want you to know I'm not ARGUING. I'm discussing. It's how we learn. Universal heath coverage is not free. I think everything in Canada is more expensive due to the health coverage everyone has. And from what I hear it is next to impossible to get a knee transplant or something serious like that. And the wait time is so long you will probably die before you get in. My coverage was great until they took it away. My aunt died last night in Kaiser Hospital. She was 90. They did such a good job of taking care of her and my family that was there. Her coverage was covered by Medicare. It was awesome. Well not that she died, but the treatment we all got. They put her in a seperate room so we all could sing to her. She wanted us to sing. There were over forty of us. I'm am not sure Canada would have the same. I've heard bad things about how long it talks in Canada. Maybe one of our Canadian friends can tell us an experience with their health care.

Some one said earlier that if you go to the emergency room and they fix you that you will have to pay later. I can't find the post. But that is not true. I know people who were broke and went and got fixed. They were put on Medical. Medical paid for it all. They then went and got great jobs. They were taken off medical and never had to pay back a dime. Medical (tax payers) were just happy to have them do well and get off medical.

My Grandmother is 94, she has had 2 hips and a knee replaced and didn't have to wait that long. She has battled with cancer and won. She is still going strong. My Grandfather died in 2013 after spending well over a decade on dialysis at the age of 84. My other grandmother lived to 83 she had parathyroid surgery, and lived for years with dementia. My other Grandfather died in his 80s also on dialysis for years, having to drive 45 minutes to and from his small town. Only reason he didn't keep on going was he didn't feel like it. He quit dialysis rather than deal with it. My deceased grandmother is outlived by her two older sisters. My Grandfather who passed away last year is outlived by his two older brothers. One near 90 and the other well over. Same goes for my great aunts. All of which have had positive interactions through our health care system, whether it be surgeries or dealing with illness that has needed to be dealt with. I could go on with other uncles and aunts and friends of the family who have had positive dealings with out health care system but I won't. Saska and his wife have both had positive interactions with our health care system both having ACL re-construction surgery. Both had to wait a little while for it but it happens. People who need things RIGHT NOW get them, people who can wait wait.. Its just how it is.. Instead of being in debt your whole life due to some sickness or injury you get to wait for a little bit. Unless its imperative that it happens right now. You were lucky to have good coverage, many were not and couldn't afford to get sick. I don't believe anyone is bashing America. Just saying its not nearly as great as many think it is.

The best doctors in the world might be in America.. I won't argue that because I don't know, but since it has some of the most prestigious universities, I would guess that it is the case as well. However, the best doctors in the world generally don't work graveyard shift at the ER in Flint, Michigan. The quality of care that people get going to an ER that they may not have to pay for is probably very low. Given the insane amount of money that doctors can make if the get into private health care, the best doctors will be reserved for the people willing and able to pay the most money. Yes, America might have the best of many things, but that doesn't mean all Americans have access to those things. That goes for tags like health care and education for sure, and like much more. That is why we have the statistics to look at. When we see that USA has some of the best schools in the world, yet they are showing in testing that they are far below many others, that tells us that there is likely great diversity between the top level and bottom level. I am sure there are many Americans that score extremely high on the testing (those fortunate enough to attend the expensive private schools with premiere level education) but far more test very low due to extremely poor education in the poorer areas where thee is no money... That is America's biggest problem... The extreme diversity between the rich and the poor, and some of you guys only think America should be judged by its top level scores and ignore all the bad stuff that taints the numbers. That right the is one huge reason why America is not the greatest country in the world... Too many people refuse to accept anything negative that they hear about their own country, thus ignoring the real problems, thus causing them to continue and even get worse.

Just saying its not nearly as great as many think it is. Great response. I don't want anyone to think I am arguing. I'm trying to educate myself. My thinking is that cancer and such is going to kill some people. And all the heath care in the world can't stop that. Old age is also a killer. As is other genetic diseases. My questions are more towards heath care costs. Obviously Canada and the US have great doctors and such. The difference is we pay out of our pocket individually and you don't. But how does Canada pay for that? You must have a tax on stuff that pays for it. I mean the doctors don't work for free. I have heard gas, groceries, etc are more expensive. I pay almost four dollars a gallon for gas. What do you pay? As far as America being as great as I think it is, I know nothing else. I am begining to think we have lots of flaws. And we are not the great thing we once were. The only thing I can do about it is vote. But it seems all politicians are liers and corupt, so its a no win situation. So you guys pay nothing and just go to the doctor for a physical any time you want? If you feel sick you can just go see your doctor and you pay nothing?

You should break your posts up a little. Put in some spaces between paragraphs like Jin does. It's real hard to read all clumped together. But I will try and read it tomorrow. I'm going to bed. I got a little out of it. And one thing I can say is higher education is not for everyone. Some people just have less IQ than other.

I also love how the only people who have been on my side in this argument are Canadians. I literally can not imagine why this would surprise you. The Canadians hate America as much as I hate the Broncos. Ofcourse they'll jump on any discussion bashing this great country.
