Hong Kong and Macau are special administrative regions. They are part of China but they have their own separate government. Are you discounting Hong Kong because of their size or because technically they are not a separate country

Whatever Craig. Stop ignoring the facts. Just because the U.S.'s life expectancy is somewhere between 35th and 51st doesn't make us not the greatest country in the world. The only thing you have seemed talked about in this thread is the life expectancy, which is literally 1 second of his 3 minute rant. If you want to say the U.S. is the greatest country in the world, please I would love to hear you talk about why it is. But please stop obsessing over the ACCURATE life expectancy stat he gives.

Are you discounting Hong Kong because of their size or because technically they are not a separate country I'm just saying the argument that the USA has the forty something life expectency is bull shit. If I get sick I would rather be here than Macau or Hong Kong. Do you disagree with that? I don't remember the discussion but to say we are not the best is BS in my book. Our medical staffs are the best. So basically I'm saying I'd rather trust my doctors and hospitals than Macau or Singapore or Hong Kong. How about you? Would your rather trust those places of here? Just answer that one.

Whatever Jancey. I'm just saying that it is a skewed stat. I take paper. I'm not ignoring anything. Life expectancy has a lot to do with genetics. It has not as much to do with health care. Does not mean we are the forty something worst country in the world.

Does not mean we are the forty something worst country in the world. Of course it doesn't, Craig. I don't understand why you're so caught up in this. You're acting like the dude in the clip said we're not the greatest country in the world because of our life expectancy, and you're basing your whole (only) argument that we are on your opinion that life expectancy stats are skewed. Whether they are or they aren't, it's really not all that important in what we're talking about in this thread. If you haven't read the rest of this thread, I would advise you do so so you can see our debate on the whole topic.

I can only take it one issue at a time. So right now I am challenging the fact that we aren't the best country due to life expectancy. I will tackle other issues if I feel like it later.
But my point that you can not deny is, if you get sick where do you want to be? Of course you want to be in the best place possible, and that is here. Do you disagree with that?
I will go back and read more once we decide if the life expectancy thing is a crap argument that we are not the best. Sure there are other countries that do well.

No one ever says this Craig which is why I don't get why we're so caught up in this. No one ever said we aren't the best country because of our life expectancy.

Just answer that one. Ive been to hong kong but never the hospitals there so i cant really say. But you make it sound like Hong Kong is Mexico city. Hong kong is as modern as it gets. I doubt the standards for hospitals are that much different. You cant really prove the USA has the best medical staff ever.

The life expectancy thing isn't crap Craig.. If you are living in a war torn country or a place where you are likely to get murdered your life expectancy goes down. If you are in a countries where people are more likely to kill themselves, the general life expectancy goes down.. If you are living in a country where there are poisonous and animals that will kill you your life expectancy goes down. If you live in a country with tons of vehicular deaths your life expectancy goes down. You aren't expected to live as long if there are so many different possibilities for you to die. Its the same everywhere and they are basing everyone on the same shit, it isn't skewed in the least.
