I think it's hard for a movie to scare outside of jump scares and such things that no one really enjoys. I generally watch horror films hoping for them to be more viscerally disturbing, but not in a Saw/I Spit on Your Grave or Shock horror type of way but like Nosferatu or some parts of Hausu. Things that are more based in reality scare me more, that any ghost, monster or paranormal thriller. Same here. And YES to The Strangers. I feel the same way about that movie lol.

Just saw The Visit tonight. Good and really entertaining. Not nearly as scary as I thought it be but way funnier than I thought it'd be. Definitely worth checking out, although I'd wait for it to hit Redbox.

Just saw the following two movies this week in theaters.
Spectre - It's okay, it has some pretty major flaws to it IMO. However, the sets and the production value of the series has really shot up. If you see it, you won't leave thinking it was awful, but you will have a few grievances.
Spotlight - It's a dramatization in the spirit of a documentary. It's well done, see it if you're interested in the story. Although it might be more informative to read about the horrific scandal, if that's your thing.

It was just me and 2 of my little brothers at home last weekend so I took them to that just as something to do. Your description of it is right on the dot. I was telling people it was basically just another Bond movie Sent from my Nexus 5 using proboards
