Welcome to this weeks bengals weekly game preview between the bengals and packers
GAME SCHEDULE
the bengals will be playing the packers in cincinnati on august 23rd at 7 PM ET. game is not a national televised game, so it will only be on in parts of green bay and cincinnati. however the game for people in cincinnati is blacked out like last time against the jets. the bengals have now had 8 straight home game blackouts in preseason. the bengals will wear there black home jerseys this game
RUNDOWN
its pretty clear who really is the better team here, as the packers are already vegas favorites to win the superbowl, while the bengals are favored the best chance to miss the playoffs. the packers door is not closing anytime soon as they still have loads of talent
HISTORY
the bengals have beaten the packers in 5 straight games in preseason. last time they both played in preseason was 2008 in green bay where the bengals won 20-17. last time both teams played in cincinnati in preseason was 2005 the bengals won 48-17. last time the packers beat the bengals in preseason was 1982 in green bay 41-27. bengals also have played better against the packers in the regular season beating them 2 straight, as they have last played them in 2009 where the bengals won 31-24. last time the packers beat the bengals in the regular season was 1998 where they won 13-6
5 THINGS I WANT TO SEE
5.No more injuries please. this team can never catch a break when it comes to injuries. they had 4 players hurt in the 1st game, and then 2 guys hurt in the 2nd game. if this team keeps getting hurt, they are gonna be a huge disappointment this year
4.Learn to cover better. last week the secondary was a complete joke, especially guys like terence newman, taylor mays, and robert sands. they could not stop the falcons from throwing passes. if you thought the falcons WR's were hard, wait till you face jordy nelson and greg jennings
3.Someone please step up at WR. So far the main guys in the running for the #2 WR job has done little to none. brandon tate with 3 catches for 30 yrds, armon binns 2 catches for 24 yards, and mohamed sanu with 2 catches for 11 yards. marvin jones has had 3 catches for 90 yard so far, but i really dont think a 5th round rookie will be the winner of this job. if nobody steps up soon, a trade could happen soon or a WR committee will be what this team will do
2.OL needs to get better now. almost all the starters have played well. almost. clint boling to no surprise still needs work since he is now the next man up in place for travelle wharton's injury. and the backup interior OL players are even worse too, mainly otis hudson and reggie stephens. they didnt do so well slowing down pass rush either last week
1.Establish a good run game. so far this run game has been pretty stale right now. law firm played in week 1 but didnt do that well, and he didnt play last week at all. nobody at RB played good at all, especially brian leonard. cedric peerman made some noise in week 1, but thats about it. i have no faith in this run game what so ever right now. law firm is not an all down back lets face it. and nobody has given him a break, which is gonna be bad news this year for the offense if the run game cannot take any pressure off a.j green and andy dalton
PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR
5.OG clint boling. he will be starting again this week and wont be losing the job to anyone else likely. hes the one that needs to step it up on this team. i know its hard for him because it was so sudden, but hes been motivated all camp after losing his job. now its time for you to show us why you deserve it back
4.WR mohamed sanu. hes been very disappoint so far in preseason games so far so its time for him to break out of the pack. while i still believe armon binns will win the job, this is make it or break it for him. if he doesnt play good, he wont start. if he does, he increased his chances
3.OG kevin zeitler. hes played well so far, but what better way to test him than playing against his home town team the packers. this was his favorite team while growing up and now playing your old team, i think hes gonna have a very good game
2.SS taylor mays. hes been very reckless and not very good so far. dangerous and can hurt even his own teammates as hes shown so far. hes not been very good, but nobody else has either. hes gotta step it up this game and lock down his starting job
1.RB benjarvus green ellis. im not sure if hes playing this game or not, so if he isnt, ill put brian leonard in here instead. but like i said before, i want to see some smash mouth run game this week. i have no confidence in the law firm yet, but he needs to have a good game this week. if not him, someone else
PREDICTION
the bengals are 2-0 so far in preseason while the packers are 0-2. while the packers are a better team than the bengals, there depth has not shown so far in preseason. plus like i said before, the bengals own the packers in preseason. ive picked the bengals to lose the last 2 weeks. this week im picking them to win easy

i will talk about my thoughts on here after the game. i wont be doing post game threads until the season starts, so ill just rename the thread after the game
