It's not just about the amount though. You also have to take into account that the Jets are probably the most desperate team for a WR in the NFL. Their best one is Santonio Holmes who is very much past his prime. Behind that, they have Stephen Hill who is injury prone (even more so than J Mac) and Jeremy Kerley (who?) A good WR is NEEDED. And even if I overpaid, it is worth it because of the huge talent upgrade at the position. so maybe you should have went for a better WR instead of paying 6+ mil on a RT? the Jets still have no WR1. Holmes is MAYBE a WR2 now, and Maclin is a WR2 too if he can ever get on the field and stay healthy. Well, the WR group for this FA was pretty weak. Besides Nicks, who imo was overpaid for, there wasn't very many better options than Maclin. Boldin > Maclin, sure, but Boldin is aging. I also wanted somebody relatively young. I agree Maclin is a #2 WR. I plan on drafting a #1 WR in the first. Maclin obviously isn't going to tear his ACL every year. Besides that, he has only missed 7 games out of 64. That isn't bad.

So are you agreeing with the notion that you severely overpaid for Maclin? And I would rather Golden Tate for his price over Maclin for his. And you don't need a completely young team. Would you realize how much Boldin would help Geno? Instead he has a headcase in Holmes and an injury case in Maclin. That won't help his development. Your team tho

Your team tho Ha, I already sort of admitted I overpaid. But it's just something the Jets needed to do. Meh on Tate over Maclin. It's debatable. Like I said, Maclin obviously isn't going to have a season ending injury every year. Besides that, he hasn't missed many games at all. Like 2 a season.

Lol, looking at it now, it's laughable Maclin has an "injury prone" label attached to him.
2009: 15 out of 16 games played 2010: 16 out of 16 games played 2011: 13 out of 16 games played 2012: 15 out of 16 games played
..So one torn ACL and he gets the injury prone label? No way.

What is the big deal about Nicks!!! Jesus christ already. The guy has been average the last two seasons. Hes injury prone and he hasn't even hit 1200 yds. The guy is not a top ten wr and should not get paid like one. And if he does get top ten money....the GM that brokers the deal should get fired.
