Now, some of you may be thinking I am being a little homerish, but hear me out. This isn't actually the first time his name has been mentioned as a possible Heisman Trophy dark horse. Experts around the web are starting to take notice of the amazing season Aaron Donald has been having for Pitt.
So far this season, Donald has 51 Total Tackles, 10 Sacks, 4 Forced Fumbles, 16 Quarterback hurries, a blocked kick, and nation-leading 26 tackles for a loss as a interior Defensive Lineman. Now, the NCAA record for most tackles for a loss is 32 and that was by Jason Babin as a DE. Donald could break that mark with 2 games left to play. He is having a best of a season and has easily been the most disruptive Defensive Lineman in the NCAA this season.
Now the Heisman Trophy should go to the best football player in the NCAA, and shouldn't be a team award. With Jameis Winston's rape allegations looming, that could hurt his chances and right now the award race is looked at to be wide open at the moment, with Johnny Manziel's bad game last week further hurting his chances as well. If any Defensive Player deserves to be mentioned for the Heisman Trophy, it is Aaron Donald.

If you have ever watched Aaron Donald in a game, he is a downright monster. Unguardable one-on-one. He is going to at least be a 2nd Round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft if not a first if he can finish the season strong against Miami.
