I respectfully disagree. I watch Ifo play and I see a player with "it"; speed, aggression, solid tackler, the ability to attack the football. I watch Dennard play and I think, "eh." What Dennard are you watching? I'm just not really impressed by him. I watch his highlights and he doesn't really blow me away. On paper, he sounds awesome, but when I see his highlights, he doesn't leave an impression. He comes out of nowhere and establishes himself as the best CB prospect in the draft? I'm skeptical.

Maybe he is just now getting the publicity, but being a Michigan fan, I've seen Dennard play countless times over the past couple years. He didn't exactly come out of nowhere to people who have seen him play before. He's not going to wow you athletically but Dennard is extremely fundamental/technically sound and he WILL lockdown his WR. He's outstanding in run support as well. "The media has attached the moniker of “Air Traffic Controller” on the senior cornerback and dubbed the territory that Dennard covers as a “No Fly Zone.” The Spartan defender has more than lived up to that lofty billing. Through thirteen games during his senior campaign, Dennard has had 111 passes targeted into his area, allowing just seventeen of those tosses to be completed (15.32%) for 91 yards, as he recorded fourteen passes defended (four interceptions, ten deflections) and rerouted/jammed his man coverage assignments away from 62 of those tosses (55.86%)." spartannation.com/2013/12/20/the-amazing-in-depth-nfl-analysis-of-spartan-cb-darqueze-dennard-a-must-read-courtesy-of-the-nfl-draft-report/

People make him out to be the next Revis, Sherman or Peterson and I just don't see it. Maybe you said it yourself "He's not going to wow you athletically" I guess I'm just looking for an athlete when it comes to CBs. I see him getting away with holding more than "locking down his WR" TBH.

He is currently being mocked anywhere from 10-40 (that is how DEEP this class is)

Denard > ekpre-olomu All day. I respectfully disagree. I watch Ifo play and I see a player with "it"; speed, aggression, solid tackler, the ability to attack the football. I watch Dennard play and I think, "eh." Ekpre olomu is the smallest of the top corners and is considered by many scouts to be nothing more than a slot CB. He doesn't do well against big WR's but contains small slot guys very well...as he did against Brandin cooks. Hes definitely a speedster but got brushed off frequently against bigger WR's. Hes good but not an outside CB like dennard will be. Imo

Hes good but not an outside CB like dennard will be. Imo Well somehow I managed to get in contact with CBSSports draft writer Dane Brugler and I voiced my concerns about Dennard. Here is what he said: "His downfield aggressive nature won't fly in the NFL and he'll be target quite a bit for that. He doesn't have elite speed or athleticism, but it's good enough. He's smart, heady and instinctive and puts himself in good position to make plays on the ball. He's not in the same convo as Revis or some other top CBs, but I think mid-to-late 1st is a decent spot for him, although I don't know if I would take him that high." I told him that he won't get away with holding the way he does at Michigan State, he agreed. I told him that his lack of speed concerns me considering that most WRs in this league are fast and athletic pass-catchers and there is a good chance that he will get burned. What I was confirming is that he won't be Revis-good or Sherman-good or Peterson-good but when he told me that "He's smart, heady and instinctive and puts himself in good position to make plays on the ball," it reminded me of a player on my roster that isn't really fast or athletic but instinctive and intelligent and I was thinking, "well if Manti Te'o can survive in this league with his football instincts and average athleticism, I think this guy can." I wouldn't use a first round pick on Dennard but whatever.

sirshockwaveI agree he probably won't be an elite CB. My only argument is that he's a better prospect than the duck.
