I imagine Brady will use the ligament damage in his hand as the reason why he wont attend the pro bowl. He could still go, but it would surprise me.

Good game guys.. You guys had a hell of a season playing through a lot of adversity, with injuries and other off field issues. I would have hated to play you guys with your full team (Gronk, Mayo, Wilfork and Talib). I was very nervous at the end of that game... Brady has had to many 4th quarter comebacks for me to get comfortable.

Denver has a great team and is set up for many good years, even post Manning. Good luck in the Superbowl, and see you next season!

Expect to see a Devin Mccourty contract extension this offseason. I think this will be the number 2 priority, second to resigning Talib.

Bill Belichick stated that the Welker hit on Talib was a "deliberate play by the receiver to take out Talib."
At the very least it was offensive PI. I am not one to claim that one player going down was the difference in winning and losing, but this was a significant injury. Our defense was playing fairly well before Talib went down and then got destroyed after he went down. Same thing happened last year in the conference championship.
Anyways you have to feel bad for Aqib Talib. Very unlucky to get knocked out of back to back AFC Championships. His play has been one of the best corners in the league this season and I fully expect him to return to New England.

Here is a list of our upcoming free agents:
LS Danny Aiken RB LeGarrette Blount DE Andre Carter WR Austin Collie WR Julian Edelman LB Dane Fletcher TE Michael Hoomanawanui TE Matthew Mulligan LB Brandon Spikes OL Will Svitek CB Aqib Talib C Ryan Wendell TE D.J. Williams
Andre Carter stated after the game that he will only play for the Patriots. While only putting up 2 sacks this year, Carter was fairly effective as a sub rusher. Very good chance he is back.
I am starting to think a RB may be the target in the 2nd or 3rd round. Ridley, Vereen, and Bolden are set to be free agents in 2015, and it is hard to imagine a scenario where all 3 of them are brought back.
DT Isaac Sopoaga will be a cap casualty this offseason. Sopoaga played 2 games, and I thought he looked solid against the run. Sopoaga pretty quickly showed that he has lost a major step since his San Francisco games. Still worth the risk considering we just moved down from the 5th to 6th round. With Kelly and Wilfork back, this dline will instantly improve.
Vince Wilfork and Logan Mankins are two guys who I think may restructure their contract or take a pay cut. Both of these guys chased the money after receiving the franchise tag, but I think at this point in their careers they are willing to be more helpful to the team and would be willing to restructure.

The entire practice squad, except DT Marcus Forston have been signed to a future contract.
With next season in mind here are a couple of players who could come out of nowhere and end up playing a big role next season:
DE/DT Armond Armstead: Armstead was viewed as a late 1st to early 2nd round pick by most. He had a heart attack at USC which caused him to go undrafted. After playing one year in the Canadian Football League, Armstead was signed too a 3 year deal by the Patriots. He is expected to play a major role as an interior pass rusher next season.
WR TJ Moe: Moe has been viewed by many as player who has potential to be the next no name player to have success in the slot. If Edelman isnt resigned, Moe will have a chance to take over the slot role.
CB Logan Ryan: This isnt exactly a player coming out of nowhere, as he lead all rookies with 5 interceptions this season. Ryan has some incredible ball skills, and will have a chance to start at the nickel corner or outside corner this offseason.

Why didn't DT Marcus Forston get a contract?

Why didn't DT Marcus Forston get a contract? Not sure yet. It is possible he will get one, and the terms of it havent been agreed on yet. Forston has spent most of his career on the practice squad, but has played in a few games. Some had the guy as a first round pick at one point during his college career. He deffently hasnt lived up to that status.

Marcus Forston signed to a future contract.
LB coach Pepper Johnson has left the Patriots. It is unclear if it was his choice or if he was let go. Very good dline/LB coach who has been in New England since 2001.
Johnson is probably worthy of a defensive coardinator position, and it would likely take him a long time to get that job in New England.
