Goodell made a statement saying Cooper will not be punished by NFL.....
I honestly think he should be suspended just to make a statement for players to not be idiots in public....ever.

What a fing joke........ Charlie Casserly said that the Eagles may need to bring in a freakin' therapist for anyone who has an anger issue ...... Baaaaaahhaaaaaaaaa....... Cooper should also get a Emmy for his performance for being a victim. I thought he was going to fake cry.... Is there anyone that hasn't heard or said the word at least once??? Who really gives a chit...... I wasn't born in the 1800's so this BS has nothing to do with me. My interpretation of the definition is an uneducated dumbass..... I'm telling ya, the f'ers are everywhere......I truly hate the media..... I have to agree with you here Dirty....Its just more media dribble. The media has nothing better to do than poke at hornets nests. They know theres tension out there, that they created...now there are just trying to add fuel to it.

Many of you here are aware that I lived in Jamaica for many years and recently was teaching at an all-black inner-city high school in Milwaukee. I can attest to the fact that this term is REGULARLY used in the black community. I also admit to using this term--on occasion and within context--WITHOUT suffering any repercussions.
JUST MY TWO CENTS: Although I agree that the context of Cooper's "drunken threat" of "wanting to fight every nigger here" was out of line, I find it a little hypocritical that a black man can call another black man "my nigger"--but if a WHITE MAN uses that same term, EVERYBODY cringes in total shock and outrage, calling it a racial slur.
BTW--I also cannot believe that more than a handful of African-Americans would pay good money to attend a Kenny Chesney concert, anyway--so Cooper's "threat" appears a little empty to me.
On the whole, it seems to me that this argument falls squarely within the double standards category and only highlights the fact (despite our black president) that the United States of America's melting pot continues to be segregated along a racial divide. I find the outrage expressed in these numerous news articles only feeds upon this divide.

Does this remind you of the episode where Randy (Stan's Dad) says nigger on Wheel of Fortune and then everyone starts calling him the nigger-guy... and he is so upset that they call him that he gets congress to pass a law making the term nigger-guy illegal. It is really funny! LOL. That is so funny. Have you seen the real version of when it actually happened? Lol the awkward silence just cracks me up.

I find the outrage expressed in these numerous news articles only feeds upon this divide. It might seem to be a double standard, and not saying it is or isn't, but it's just different. Yeah, blacks call each other 'nigga' in a very friendly way on a regular basis, and the few of them that take exception to this are probably not the type to hang with those that do it. I get it, I do. (I think) Not gonna make those distinctions here, it would only be misunderstood, and really, I could never say for sure, as I'm not black. Why they think it's almost cool to call each other this these days, IDK. Maybe they are far enough removed from the bigotry that existed just a few decades earlier. Seems to be only the youth that does this. Today, white folk could only get away with that if used in a certain tone and already ingratiated themselves as good friends. I digress, cuz this is obviously not the case here. IDK for sure, but the slur was directed at a security guard. No, Chessney probably doesn't have a lot of black fans, but still, it's South Philly, so there were probably more than a handful. lol If there were even 10 black fans, they could probably have taken his big mouth down. I don't see it as a real threat, but I do believe he is a bigot/racist.

Ronnie Brown was on the radio today. He said Riley and him were friends. And said they hung out in the off season. I agree with ADB and Jeffb, the media just wants to poke the hive. I mean come on, is it really that news worthy that a drunk idiot said that word? Everything is caught on camera these days. So the media blows out of context what suits them.
So a drunk white guy wants to fight (and we don't know why, maybe there was a reason)and he uses that word. Do you really think he deserves to lose his job, or money, or anything? I mean really?
When I was young we were taught and actually had a song. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me"
