OTAs have begun, all of the rookies (aside from Jones) have been signed, and the Packers have 89 men on the roster... What are your thoughts on player progress, potential, and the eventual outcome of the depth chart?

There are a few roster battles that I find very intriguing, the first of which, is Running Back. First there are the incumbents, Starks, Green and Harris. Then there are the draftees, Lacy and Franklin. Finally, the UDFA, Pease to round out the group of six. Presumably, the Packers will keep three, at most four of them on the final roster. Barring injury, one would assume that Lacy and Franklin are locks. That leaves one, possibly two, spot(s) remaining. Personally, I don't see Starks remaining on the roster for very long, based on his injury history, and lack of consistency when healthy. Normally, based on his season ending performances, and McCarthy's statements prior to the Draft, I would give the nod to Harris. However, thus far, as per reports from GBPG and JSOnline, Harris has been on the sidelines with an injury. Green has, to this point, been getting the primary number of reps, with the 1st string offense. Clearly, McCarthy has some faith in his abilities. That being said, it has also been reported, that Green has been having some trouble with fumbling. Unless this issue is resolved quickly, I would guess that he will be moved to 2nd team reps, knocking him down the depth chart. Lastly is Pease, who impressed greatly at the rookie minicamp. Since then, not much has been reported about his progress. Also, he is the only Running Back on the roster, other than Lacy and Franklin, that is Practice Squad eligible. Likely, that is where Pease will end up, come the final cut downs to 53. However, if Starks is a roster casualty, Green does not fix his fumbling issues, and Harris' injuries linger, Pease does have a very real shot. So how do you see the depth chart turning out? Could it be:
Lacy, Franklin, Green, 4th- Harris P.S.- Pease
Lacy, Franklin, Harris, 4th- Green P.S.- Pease
Lacy, Franklin, Green, 4th/P.S.- Pease
Lacy, Franklin, Harris, 4th/P.S.- Pease
Lacy, Franklin, Pease
?
You tell me...
As a side note, when all is said and done, I honestly believe that Franklin will beat out Lacy as the Packers starter... just my gut feeling.

Don't worry about typos. If it annoys you there should be an 'Edit' button next to 'Quote'. If so you can correct any mistakes.

I think it would be shocking to see Franklin start over Lacy.

Word from the Charger camp is that D.J. Fluker is struggling and would make a better guard than a tackle. UGH. But I'm not getting to excited, they don't even wear pads yet. So Fluker may do better when he can hit people.

UGH again.

I think it would be shocking to see Franklin start over Lacy. I don't. Franklin's build and running style is more conducive to him being named the 3-down back. Although, quite frankly, I think this will come down to WHO is the better passing blocker for A-Rod. If you whiff--ala deer in the headlights-- on picking up blitz coverage, you will spend more time on the sidelines.
