I'm sure most of you know this already, but Golson has been suspended from Notre Dame for "poor academic judgment". I have no clue what that all means exactly, but they way they are wording it, it's nothing as simple as bad grades. Maybe he was caught cheating? In any case he has been removed from the fall semester at ND. For more on this go here: www.cnn.com/2013/05/26/sport/sport-notre-dame-quarterback/index.html?hpt=hp_bn1 hopefully you can make better sense of it than me, or know more than me.

He got caught plagiarizing. And Notre Dame is letting him back on campus after this semester. Nice academic standards, ND.

The numbers he put up were pretty good, could you imagine if he went to a rival school after? ND would have egg on their face for that. Right now they are safe, because no school will touch him, nor will the NCAA allow him to join another squad while his punishment is in effect. The thing is, if he wasn't a higher profile student, he probably wouldn't have even been suspended for the semester. He would have received a fail, demerit, and possibility of having to retake the course plus an investigation. His stats for all others, I know MO knows what they are: 2012 SPLITS Comp = 187 Att = 318 YDS = 2405 CMP% = 58.8 YPA = 7.56 Long = 50 TD = 12 INT = 6 Sack = 15 QBR = 131.0

Plagiarizing is a pretty huge deal. People have been expelled from school over that. I think ND is letting him off WAY too easy, but I guess that's jmo.

After that you get a suspension, shorter than there of course it's accelerated, and any time after that BAM you gone, and you have to pay in full for all of your classes, even the ones you got kicked out of for cheating at the time. I don't know why he cheated anyways, it's not like it's that hard to shit out a paper when your short on time and still get a B. The NCAA may take further steps, though I know they like to let the school handle it first

MO you crack me up.
At 90% of universities this would have been covered up.
Stop kidding yourself.
My expectations for this season just went down, but it will still be interesting and if it does go downhill I will still have Duke FB and the NFL too. Plus Duke BB starts in November.

I'll be a freshman in college next year, but at my high school you got a warning if you were lucky. They made it very clear they take it seriously. To be honest, it's kind of easy to plagiarize, all you have to do is change up a few words, and that is enough to where they can't charge you. (Not saying I've done that, btw : He must have literally copied whatever he copied verbatim.

Lol, I would bet money that what you say about "90% of universities would keep it covered up" is untrue, but it's delusional to think that if it was true, that ND is in the 10% given how long they covered up Manti Teo's fake girlfriend. Please steel, you're better than that.

If you copy any text that is able to be discerned from another author or article, you MUST ALWAYS cite, both in the paper and in the reference page. They even consider this plagiarism at the next level if you do not properly cite your info. In High School it's a bit different, but in high school they are more about total plagiarism then partial. Also, have to take into account how much you high school has had to deal with it on a case by case scenario, and the fact that K-12 schools get paid by taxes and by the state and have standards to live up to in order to get the money, College/University is different as the students are paying them instead.

Please steel, you're better than that. Unrelated. If ND did know about the Teo thing, thats not something they would cover up to avoid penalties. ND wouldnt get in trouble for something like that. Its not a violation to have a fake girlfriend. Trust me, at a lot of universities the athletes done do much schoolwork. I done think you are at college yet? If you go to college, you will likely see it. Of course the amount of it varies depending on the school.
