Sorry Craig, but my dad who never followed politics even while I was a political science major in college, he never cared about elections and never cared who ran the country. Hes a Vietnam vet, and currently the commander of all Oregon American Legion vet clubs. Him like most of his friends all of a sudden became very interested in politics around 2008, why? Oh I know, because him and almost all other white men over 50 can not stand have a NIGGER for a president. It makes me sick. Always lame excuses to cut down our great President. If he was white he'd be beloved. Just the world we live in. I love my dad, great guy who adopted me and loves my daughter's and my wife. But he is a racist bigot that is fueling the trump machine and it's wrong. I visit him now and he makes sure to turn the fox news off...  |

I do thank him for his service. I was eighteen in 1972. I had friends die in that war, and I had ones come back not the same. I was lucky to not have to go. I find it strange that your father and his friends are so racist. The ones I know came back as brothers no mater their color. I am a white male over fifty and contrary to Oprah we don't all need to die to solve racism. There are plenty of young racists of all races. In a way you sound like my mom. She thinks because Obama is black that is why he is not praised as a great president. Let me ask you simple questions. How did he get elected twice? Did people turn racist after the elections? Think about that. It makes the race card mute. My problem with him is his foreign policy and his stance on radical Islamic terror. Our Allie's don't trust us any more. Our enemies don't fear us. Our place in the world as a strong force, is gone. It's all because of Obama. I agree Bush was an idiot for going into Iraq. Don't forget Hillary liked the idea. But its long time coming to drop that. What's done is done. When you take over as pres you need to do better. Obama is so arrogant. He takes total pride in ending the wars in Afganistan and Iraq. Last I checked we are still dropping bombs and to me that is war. Also when we pulled out of Iraq it was pretty stable. Our generals told him they weren't ready. Bush and Hillary may have helped make Isis but it was Obama who took them for granted. and called them JV and did nothing. Still does nothing. Isis a little while ago was only thirty thousand fighters. That won't even fill half of Chargers stadium. They got lots of stuff from the Iraqi army running and leaving the weapons we gave them. Total failure by Obama. To this day he calls terrorist attacks "work place violence" He will leave the next president with a HUGE problem. He could have done a lot better, no mater what color he is. |

What's his policy Craig? What could he have done better? His plan is to help the Sunni's in that region develop a strategy to combat ISIS. Is there a better solution? Should America be sending in troops and staging an all out war? That doesn't work. Every time you go in to fight a war you piss off another massive group. This isn't America's fight. It's a fight between the people of that region and the reason America has received threats and a couple actual attacks is because they are mad at how America has been so involved with their fight. The more they entice America into action, the more people get pissed off at America and want to fight against them. Is Obama weak because he's less willing to send living, breathing Americans into a deadly battle? Is he weak because he would prefer to try a diplomatic way of handling this war? Who would fix this? Would Trump come in and make America great again? Would he crush ISIS? No, he would wrecklessly send in troops or some massive bombing raid that would kill thousands of civilians and give another whole generation a great reason to hate America. Continuing to be the rootin' tootin' gunslinging bullies that you have been in the past will do nothing but make your enemies grow. Be thankful you don't have someone else in power right now. And you can say the way people treat him has nothing to do with race, but how many other legitimately American presidents had their birth certificate questioned? How many other presidents have had to deal with the bullshit that he has had to? You call him arrogant but he has been able to maintain a sense of humour this entire time, while dealing with people who hate him passionately from all around. He has a congress who will blatantly go against anything he says, even if it is something they actively fought for in the past, because him succeeding in anything is far worse to them than any of the wrongs he's trying to right. He is confident and well spoken and quick witted. So might see that as arrogance, but he keeps his cool despite all the shit he's had to deal with. You think Trump would keep his cool with people treating him even half as bad as republicans treat Obama? Hell no. You say you won't vote for Trump, but I honestly don't believe you at all. All you've done lately is spew every absurd right wing talking point that I can think of. You say I probably would never vote Trump, but he's always honest, he's tough and he knows economics... You can say you don't believe me at all, all you want. I don't care. Why would I lie? Who are you? Do I even know you? Hell no. It's impossible to have a conversation with people who are 100% liberal. Remember I took the test and I'm about 50/50. I have an open mind and listen. You do not. So lets go back to Obama ending the unlawful, stupid, wrong war in Iraq. I will ask you a few questions.
Do you think Iraq was pretty much stable while we were there at the end? (before Obama "ended the war")
Do you think that if we stayed a little longer and listened to the generals, that things might be different?
I do not want war. It was over and Iraq was pretty much peaceful until Obama withdrew. Do you agree with that or not?
